Sunshine State Counseling Center empowers individuals, children, adolescents, couples and families to build and develop their strengths by providing therapeutic services based on a compassionate, ethical and professional approach. Therapy provides the individual with coping strategies, education, empowerment and determination to overcome any social, personal or professional difficulty.

Sunshine State Counseling Center focuses on the treatment of social, emotional and behavioral difficulties with children, adolescents, couples and families through a natural, self-guided, self-healing process. Sunshine State Counseling Center is where individuals, children, adolescents, couples and families develop skills to cope with social, behavioral and emotional difficulties.
Services
Diana Salazar, LCSW-S, RPT is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida. A nationally Certified Registered Play Therapist, Certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and fully trained in Gottman's Method for Couple's Therapy, Sand Tray Play Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Emely Fernandez completed her bachelor's degree in Psychology and earned her Master's of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology at Anna Maria college Paxton, MA. Currently, Emely is completing her second master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Florida Gulf Coast University and is currently a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in the state of Florida.
Kayla Fulbright completed her bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Art at Florida Gulf Coast University. She is currently earning her Master's of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Florida Gulf Coast University. Kayla has experience providing individual therapy to adolescents and young adults in the Southwest Florida area.
Melissa Thompson received a master's degree in Social Work from Colorado State University in 2002. She has focused her career on identifying the unique needs of each client and helping them to achieve their best quality of life. She brings a compassionate and empowering approach to supporting people through the challenges of life.
Nathan is a well experienced Mental Health Counselor with a Master Degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelors Degree in applied Psychology from Hodges University. Nathan began his career in human services, counseling/supervising at a busy outpatient treatment facility serving substance use clients with co-occurring disorders.

I went to one counselor the first week; she was very nice and professional but no experience. Then they placed me with a second counselor the next week and she was wonderful and I find out before my next appointment that both counselors have left the facility and no longer is working there. I was told by the office manager that my insurance would fully cover my visits and I would not have any copay. Then to my surprise, I was charged $100; $50/visit and when I questioned it, I was told by the office manager that I signed on my intake papers that if there was a charge that it would be charged to
