Do you find that when you're finished for the day, you can feel the muscles in your back tightening and getting sore? As we begin the lawn chores that prep our homes and yards for the winter to come, these chores can lead to injuries including lingering back pain. Being in a car accident can be scary, overwhelming, and stressful.
Most chiropractors practicing in the Ann Arbor area are of the conventional variety. A conventional chiropractor has the following goals in mind when it comes to patient care. They focus on reducing pain, inflammation, muscle spasms and increasing range of motion. They manage these health concerns with the use of forceful rapid manipulations of the neck and spine, along with hot and cold therapies to aid in pain reduction.
Spinal Structure, just like body temperature, eyesight and blood pressure has an acceptable range of what's considered normal. We're not trying to make anyone perfect but there are healthy ranges depending on your age and situation. At Pivotal Chiropractic we are looking for a significant displacement of the spine away from normal.
Once a segmental displacement has occurred it disrupts the spinal nerves, spinal cord and discs, this distortion of the central nervous system leads to many different secondary conditions or symptoms. The reason they are called secondary conditions is because they are a result of the underlying primary segmental displacement.
After a complimentary consultation a prospective patient may elect to proceed with a specific correction examination. The examination may also be scheduled for a later time if you so choose. As always the decision is yours and there is never any pressure.
Unlike some chiropractic exams, which are performed in 15 minutes by someone other than the doctor, this exam will be thoroughly performed by Dr. Gessert to identify the nature of your segmental displacement.The specific correction exam is very comprehensive so you should plan for no less then 45 minutes of your time.

Dr. Andrew is great!! After having fairly severe hip pain for quite awhile I decided to go to Pivotal per recommendation by my husband who had great results. X-rays showed my hips to be malaligned causing my back to curve, pinching my nerves. After only a few weeks of adjustments with Dr. Andrew I have minimal to no pain in my hip and can keep up when running after my kiddos again!!! I definitely recommend seeing Dr. Andrew. I look forward to the progress I’ll see after my full course of adjustments and plan to continue with maintenance when it’s complete.

As a weightlifter/athlete for 10+ years, I had a lot to correct. My squat has never felt better! Dr. Andrew was very thorough during the initial examination. He is very knowledgeable and answers all of my questions. The office is conveniently located off I-94 and is very clean! I would highly recommend Dr. Andrew!

Dr. Andrew has been treating my chronic rib pain for over a year now. I started with a concentrated treatment plan and later moved into a maintenance program. I am happy to report that with regular visits, my rib pain has been at bay for the longest time since it began almost 14 years ago! I would recommend his services to anyone who is suffering from musculoskeletal pain.

I've been seeing Dr. Andrew for several years now for neck pain. He solved a structural imbalance problem that I've had for over 30 years that previous doctors, physical therapists, and a chiropractor did not. It eliminated the need for a heel lift in my left shoe that I had been wearing for decades.
