I cannot say enough about the quality of care I received here at Rivers Edge Vet Hospital. My "Tiny" is a family member to us. He is now 12. My vet said he would need his leg amputated 5 years ago. I decided to seek a second opinion. Dr. Karla was not convinced it needed to come off. She removed the cancerous tumor and our buddy had 5 more great quality years enjoying life.
Unfortunately, the tumor returned recently. Dr. Karla and her wonderful team were with us with compassion and professionalism thru the whole unfortunate loss of his limb. It was one of the toughest decisions and experiences we have been thru. The WHOLE Rivers Edge team is on the same page, which is very unusual in any group!

Dr. Karla Cunningham is a 1996 graduate of the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. She is very pleased to be providing medical care to pets in Massac and surrounding counties. Having served as an assistant professor for the U of I College of Veterinary Medicine from 1998 through 2007, she is dedicated to educating pet owners in the best way to care for their furry friends.

I was traveling from out of town. This was only vet in area that would look at my dog. Most wanted you to be established patient. He did emergency surgery on my dog. I had the vet phone number for questions or concerns. Called next day to see how my dog was. Surgical tech informative too. Both did good at educating me and making sure my dog was comfortable.

Dr. Jones and the staff at REVH are ahead of the best! I drive 3 hours round trip to have my dog seen here and it’s totally worth every minute and penny! Dr. Jones is caring and takes time to listen to your needs and is always willing to assist and find the solutions for each individual concern you may have. The Dr.s and staff here are most importantly very compassionate, kind, & truly caring for the pets. Dr. Jones explained my concerns for Chub Chub thoughly and discussed a wellness plan for Chub Chub. They are great with C.C. when he's crabby & they always calm him right down. All the staff are super friendly... They also have state of the art dental exams, which are very important for our feline family members.

Worst experience ever, Horrible Rude vet Russell B. Jones is a joke. Whole family is changing to another local vet. Scammed my grandfather out of hundreds of dollars, giving his dog medicine that he has already had and didn’t need again, this place will not last especially with the horrible vet they have.

My mom took our Chiweenie to this veterinary clinic for the first time and absolutely loved it! Super friendly staff! I mean who else has fear free treats that include cheese cones, lol?! It was also so awesome that his vet happened to be a Dachshund expert! I was unfortunately not able to go in because of COVID restrictions, but I know my mom was more than pleased! 😁

My German Shepherd, Red, had some sort painful attack and was in distress. A type of mass was found when an X-ray was done and Dr. Jones at River's Edge performed an ultrasound to find out what was going on. Thankfully, it was his spleen which was able to be removed. It was twisted. They performed the surgery same day and Red is better than ever. He is recovering nicely and I'm so very thankful to the entire staff at River's Edge for taking such wonderful care of him. I feel very blessed I have more time with my boy.
