Services
Growing up in Manhattan, KS, my father was a hobbyist photographer and I was his little assistant in the darkroom. I was fascinated with it all from an early age and began learning more through my local 4-H group. After having gone into the corporate world as a young adult, I soon realized I needed to follow my heart and get back to photography.
Your maternity session is about feeling deeply at ease and letting go of any anxieties or judgement. During your session, you'll find everything else falls away, except for a new and beautiful appreciation for yourself, and a lasting connection to the miracle of carrying a child. Maternity photos are best done 4-6 weeks prior to your due date (but we can do them anytime you wish).
Our studio is available for indoor photos and we have great outdoor spots with an urban setting just steps from our front door. When you book a studio session, you have the option of doing both at no extra charge. Unlike other photographers we do not charge extra for additional family members to be in the photos.
Centrally located in Kansas City in Columbus Park (near the downtown City Market area), we have access to lots of fun and funky outdoor urban scenes, all within walking distance of the studio. Your senior portrait session can include both in studio, and photos outside the studio area for the same session fee price.

We have taken photos twice with Happy Chick Christy and both times have ended up with so many amazing photos. We have done family photos and child photos both times. She will be the first one I call every time we need an updated family photo.

I scheduled my son's senior pics at the very end of the school year, there was not much time before he graduated. Christy was very accommodating and worked me in right away.
The day of the shoot she was AMAZING! She was able to get sooooo many good pictures of my son. The area she choose was perfect too! I wanted an urban shoot, and she nailed it! She was perfectly on time, very personable, and put my son (and me) at ease. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed the day, it was perfect. She helped me to create a memory I will cherish forever 💗

Christy was an absolute professional and took all appropriate precautions to ensure we were comfortable due to COVID. Our session was outdoors, she wore a mask and gloves, sanitized all equipment, and kept her distance whenever possible. We are thankful to have these pictures as memories during this unprecedented time!

Booked with Happy Chick three weeks before senior picture day and Christy kept in contact with us the entire time. She was so easy to work with but yet very professional, creative ideas and lots of options for different photo back drops. It was a really great experience for my daughters senior pictures. I highly recommend Happy Chick, fabulous job.

Christy was SO wonderful to work with!! She was accommodating to our crazy schedule getting our family photo session scheduled and once we arrived she was great all around. She was professional and flexible with allowing us to request certain backgrounds and poses and she was especially great with our children and making sure they were comfortable. We got our proofs back to review the same day as our photo shoot which I was definitely not expecting but was SO grateful for!! Once I chose my package I had the final pics within a few days, again, amazing! I would definitely recommend Christy and we
