Dana 's mother bought the Pancake House in 1972. She took over from her mom whom she learnt the trade from in 1993. In 1994, they decided to go Non-Smoking and many people said that that would bring their business down and that they would go broke. But that did not happen, in fact 26 years later the Pancake House is still up and running.
Dana runs it, alongside her husband and two managers, Linda and Wanda. She attributes the success of this establishment to her loyal employees who have been with them for years. Linda has been with them for almost 39 years! That's a long time, she considers Linda as their rock. Located in Longview, Cowlitz County, Washington the Pancake House has been the go-to restaurant for many families, generation after generation.

On a whim one morning we went to this sweet little spot… cozy and warm on a rainy day.
We had omelettes and let me tell you they’re servings are huge!! Pancakes cover the plate.
The bacon in mine was crispy good small pieces that came tumbling out when I cut into it!
It’s quite small and very popular so you might need to wait a bit but it’s worth it! The only drawback we encountered was the parking is a small area and rather snug.

We normally go to Shari's or Denny's but wanted to try something new & was very disappointed! They don't offer free wifi & a single glass of soda is over $3. 😕
It took less than 5 minutes for them to prepare the food which expalins why the hashbrowns were soggy and cold & the white toast I was given was burnt. The eggs had no flavor & the polish sausage left a weird after taste in your mouth. Our server came to check on us once & never offered either one of us a beverage refill. The whole experience just seemed rushed & we didn't feel welcome at all. Guess we'll stick to what we know..

This place is legendary. They have the single best Denver omelette in the country. Some might say it's not really a Denver since it has bacon, but those people havent tried the Denver omelette here. I'm convinced that once they do, they'll see the light. 5/5 for being my first and best breakfast diner.

It has been a couple of years since I've eaten at the Pancake House and I was craving pancakes a couple of weeks ago, so I stopped in and ordered one Pancake and a sausage patty. I was expecting a Pancake like I had before - as large as a plate and fluffy. Boy was I disappointed to see my Pancake was smaller and was one of the thinnest I have ever seen in a restaurant. Folks, you will get a better Pancake at a fast food place. The sausage patty was large. perfect and flavorful, but did not make up for the Pancake. I will not eat there again. The quality has gone downhill, I'm sorry to say.

One of the best places in town to get home cooked food, generous portion sizes, and usually quick service.
With thick bacon and scrambled eggs, my breakfast plate was very filling. I got it with a side of gluten free blueberry pancakes that were nearly the size of the plate. The big blueberries were delicious with the warm syrup, and the whole thing melts in your mouth. Mmmmm....
Now I think I need a nap =)

In my view, the best place in town for breakfast. I go on the weekends only, because they open too late in the day for me to go during the work week, so I can't speak to any experience Monday through Friday. I like to go right when they first open to beat all the later rush. Food is always hot, service excellent. Has a comfortable, authentic old time diner feel, complete with "regulars" and banter with the service staff.

Had a group of 8 of us. Our waitress was so kind, the ladies all seemed so sweet, and they really can cook in there! Everyone was satisfied. The birthday pancake for my aunt was so clever, my daughter's pancakes were so cute and she was super surprised to see a heart shaped pancake on her plate. Our omelets were delicious. Everyone was very happy. Good food and great service.
