Jonathan Kent earned his Roofing Contractor's License from the State of California in February of 2011, and then started Kent Roofing Company. Sam, his dad, joined Kent Roofing Company as Site Superintendent and Head of Sales. Jonathan brought in Essential Business Concepts, his aunt's company, for business management and financial services necessary to enable Kent Roofing Company to serve their customers.
Douglas Kent started a residential home maintenance company called Allied Home Services in the 70's. It was not long before roof repair and preventative maintenance was recognized as his specialty. The demand of his customers on roofing projects dominated the business. When Doug passed away, Allied Home Services stayed in the family and was taken over by Doug's son Sam Kent.

Receptionist lacks basic comprehension and communication skills. She does not listen and does not know how to communicate with customers. Not someone I would want to represent my business.
After estimator came to inspect (and I had to keep following up with the receptionist as she was just totally incompetent in getting a correct estimate to me), problem was misdiagnosed to the tune of $1800. Another roofer came out and explained a $0 fix that just involved some minor labor on my end.

We had a good experience working with Kent Roofing to replace our 30-year old wood shaker roof with composite shingles. After requesting a quote online, Patrick was quick to come out and provide us with a quote, which was very reasonable compared to the others we obtained. Dave was the project manager on our home and he stopped by our home prior to the project starting to provide samples and options for our gutters and downspouts - this was very much appreciated. A great company to work with. I had a very difficult and complex situation, with a little bit of everything (replacing tar and gravel with membrane, clay tiles, gutter repair and stucco patching). Jonathan and his crew (including Karla in the office) were wonderful to work with through the awkward job, and it turned out perfectly. Best of all, Kent works extremely well with my chosen solar provider, Earth Electric, and the two companies coordinated all the work perfectly. I highly recommend both of them, separately or together! No regrets whatsoever and totally satisfied with their work.

This review actually not about their work but about estimate. I call them to request estimate and we get appointment for estimator to arrive. After that I got call to reschedule and in fact we rescheduled appointment another 3 times!!! Finally estimator arrived to inspect balcony and promised estimate in 2-3 days. It is already 3 weeks, no estimate so far, I sent friendly reminder by E-mail, no reply to that e-mal either. I prefer that contractor honestly tell me that that they will not bid for a job (any reason, too busy, job is too small etc) but not disappear with promises. And it is not only

Not every contractor deserves a five star rating, but Kent roofing surely does. And they deserve your consideration for your roofing needs.
My experience with Kent started about 2.5 years ago after our home was fumigated. We were advised to have our roof inspected for broken tiles and leaks, which led me to reach out to Kent.
Karla is a total sweetheart and very easy to talk to. Jonathan is the consummate professional when he comes to inspect your roof. Francisco does excellent work on top of your house.

They did lower the price about $1,000 but it is still more than I would like to spend at this time. If I owned a regular site built house and not a mobile home I would probably go with them, but they were still too expensive for me.

Kent Roofing actually answers the phone (Karla) - first plus. Second, Karla quickly arranged to have the team come look at my skylights, several of which were leaking with heavy rain. After determining that my skylights were at the end of their life (25 years), a quote was put together, at which point Jonathan Kent (owner) came out to make sure that the 10 skylights were appropriately specified. Within a few weeks, the skylights were received and the work scheduled. Jonathan brought a large team and got all the work done in one day, in between rainstorms. The service we received from Kent Roofing was absolutely stellar. We have used them for two projects. Jonathon's (who is the owner) roofing expertise is exceptional, and he was able to solve our leaking roof issue!
