Many who are new to the world of adoption have preconceived ideas about who a birth mother is and why she chooses adoption. Our clients come from all walks of life and have different, selfless reasons for choosing adoption. It takes courage, strength, and deep, unconditional love to make an adoption plan.
You have the ability to choose the adoptive parents your child will grow up with, as well as meet them before your baby is born. You can also maintain communication with them after your adoption is complete. While we hold adoptive parent profiles here as a convenience and service to our expectant mother clients, we do not represent the adoptive family you choose.
DCS is the Department of Child Safety in Arizona. Some expectant mothers are unsure if adoption is available to them because DCS has been involved with their other children or because they fear the hospital will report their pregnancy and delivery to DCS.
Every expectant mother has the right to create an adoption plan for her unborn child (or any child not yet in state custody) and that child can be placed with the prospective adoptive parents of your choice without ever entering the foster care system.

When expectant mothers make an adoption plan with Stuart & Blackwell, we can help with housing needs. We will help you find more permanent and stable housing if its needed. We want to help lower your stress and provide you with a safe living environment during your pregnancy. It's our goal to help you create a longer-term housing plan, when needed, so that after placement you continue to have a safe residence.
The adoption process is complex and full of legal rules that you must follow. As a result, the most important first step when beginning the adoption process in Arizona is to call our firm to schedule an initial consultation. This "Meet & Greet" appointment is designed to help you familiarize yourself with the adoption process and to explain what you can expect when adopting a child.

Stuart & Blackwell wrote my original living trust in 2016 and I previously had been impressed with the service. Since submitting what I thought were minor updates to our living trust, along with what I considered minor updates to both my wife and my Last Will & Testaments , the only communication I have had with Stuart & Blackwell is when I have there phone screener on the line inquiring a status update. Not sure how the adoption side of their business is working, but for the effort I've been applying I'm getting nothing in return!

Kristy was our lawyer for our adoption and we would definitely recommend her as an adoption lawyer! We worked with two lawyers, the birth mother's as well, and it was night and day between the two and I don't know how we would have got through it without Kristy stepping up and helping us when the other lawyer left us spinning and super confused. She was great about clarifying things, sent us really clear monthly statements, kept everything moving, and helped us to handle a couple pretty difficult situations. We had a few road bumps, but she was so on top of it that we never felt too worried

Wonderful people AND attorneys! Stuart and Blackwell are experienced, responsive, knowledgeable, honest and straightforward. They take time to explain the details and always keep our best interest and needs at the forefront of every decision made. They are forceful when the situation calls for it, but are also very thoughtful and compassionate with delicate matters. I trust them explicitly and very much enjoy and will continue working with them. Bonus - their office/support staff is the BEST!
