Dr. Michelle Heppner graduated from Life University School of Chiropractic, receiving her doctorate degree in 1995. Dr. Heppner practiced in Charleston, South Carolina, for 5 years until she moved to Charlottesville more than a dozen years ago to start a family practice where she could devote her time and effort to treating entire families, as well as individuals.
Dr. Michelle Heppner has helped thousands of patients since she opened her practice, here in Charlottesville in 2000. We try hard to accommodate those patients who need to be seen outside the typical 9-5 workday hours. Your time is important. Dr. Heppner is always respectful of your schedule and works hard to have you treated and on your way in a timely fashion.
Some health insurance policies cover a portion of massage therapy services in conjunction with chiropractic treatment. If you are already a patient at Heppner Family Chiropractic & Wellness Center, we will be happy to contact your insurance provider to determine coverage and any limitations that may apply.
At Heppner Family Chiropractic and Wellness Center we use a variety of methods to help treat you. Here is a brief overview of some of our methods. We treat all types of musculoskeletal pain with chiropractic adjustments but commonly we treat low back, neck, and headaches with manipulations.

I started going to Michelle at Heppner Family Chiropractic for all-over back pain and misalignment which was causing neck , hip, and leg pain. These weekly adjustments, coupled with the medical massages from Chase have been a LIFE CHANGER! Every single person at Heppner’s welcomes and treats you like you’re part of their family. The entire staff at Heppner Family Chiropractic is top notch! They provide expert care while also treating you like family. They have always maintained a very clean office, but they have gone above and beyond during the pandemic. For example, before and after you sign in on the iPad, they wipe it down, there is hand sanitizer everywhere, and I have seen rooms/tables be cleaned between each patient. Dr Heppner is very professional while also being able to relate to her patients. I don’t know what I would do without her! Also a huge bonus is that their hours are conducive for those who work 8-5

Michelle is the best! I have been going to her for over 10 years! I even moved away and came back and I still haven’t found anyone as good. Bob the massage therapist is excellent too. They listen to your concerns, remember your problem areas and are extremely caring and professional— not to mention it almost feels like you are going to the spa even though it is covered by most insurance. They deserve all the accolades they get every year!

I started seeing Dr. Heppner two weeks ago. This was my first experience with chiropractic care. A friend recommended the Heppner Family Chiropractic practice to me when I started having back pain due to stress. I was hesitant at first to give it a try but I am so glad I did! Dr. Heppner is amazing. She provides personalized care and has been instrumental in helping me get my life back on track. Everyone on her staff is equally wonderful. I started seeing Dr Michelle two weeks ago after I called her office and spoke with Cindy re a sudden onset of severe neck stiffness, pain and swelling from a pinched nerve which had been previously treated with Physical therapy and stretching for months by my doctors. Cindy was able to get an appointment for me w Dr. Michelle that same day. Within a few treatments my pain has significantly decreased and am able to regain movement with minimal discomfort. The entire staff has been very supportive in my continued treatments and recovery from this latest flare. I would highly recommend Dr. Michelle

Dr. Heppner is truly an angel! I started seeing her myself with neck and back pain. After 5 visits I asked her about my 15 year old daughter who had been experiencing severe stomach pains and dizziness for about 8 months. We had every test run and had seen many specialists. She was finally diagnosed with abdominal migraines and put on medication. While the medication helped some, it did not cure her symptoms. Dr. Heppner started seeing her and after about 3 sessions we started seeing positive days with little to no pain. She has since made a tremendous recovery. We are so grateful to have found

Today was my first appointment and it was the best experience I have ever had with chiropractic care! Dr. Heppner was absolutely amazing. She listened to all my concerns, talked me through the entire process and gave me pointers on things I can do to at home to feel better! Heppner Family Chiropractic has been a blessing for me. I called on a whim and they scheduled me for the next morning. Michelle and her staff are very accommodating and personable.
