From our office in Edwardsville, Illinois, the attorneys of the Weinheimer Opel Law Firm represent clients all over the Metro-East as well as St. Louis, in addition to national companies with local ties. Mark's legal practice is focused in order to provide knowledgeable advice and counsel to a wide array of individuals and family-owned businesses, closely-held companies, and their owners and managers, primarily in the business, real estate and estate planning areas. Mark seeks to develop a mutually attentive and respectful relationship with the firm's clients.
Kathie Opel joined the firm in 2015, after working for several years at a large firm in St. Louis. She focuses her practice on estate planning, business entity formation and governance, real estate law and contract drafting, negotiation and review. Kathie works with a variety of closely-held and family-owned businesses.
Erica joined the firm in 2020, after serving as General Counsel and Vice-President for a closely-held business since 2011. In that role, Erica worked closely with ownership to create and execute a legal strategy to enhance business growth, while counseling the Executive, Accounting, Human Resources and Operations teams.
Carissa Schmidt is an associate attorney who joined the firm in 2019, after graduating from St. Louis University School of Law. Carissa's practice areas align with the firm as she focuses of on real estate transactions as well as business entity formation and estate planning. After graduating early from Mizzou with her bachelor's degree, Carissa worked in the wealth management industry, gaining practical knowledge in business and finance.
