The doula is not a medical care provider. Having doula support in the prenatal process gives you 24/7 access to someone who is dedicated to listening to your concerns and providing resources for you throughout your pregnancy. Our doulas are professionally trained in labor support techniques. We specialize in pain management, as well as offering emotional support throughout the labor and delivery process.
The postpartum journey looks different for every family. Cloth diapers or disposable? Breast or bottle? Co-sleep or Crib? There are so many beautiful ways to raise a family and our doulas are here to help you with your postpartum needs. There is nothing like an extra set of hands during the transition into parenthood.

Services
Your Labor and Delivery Doula will provide a complimentary meet and greet to ensure that she is a good fit for you and your family. Once a contract has been signed, she will set up an additional meeting to establish what your needs and desires are for your labor. At this meeting, you will also meet your back-up Doula.
At Bridge Doula, our mission is to support women, without judgement, throughout their prenatal and postpartum experiences. We are here to listen, educate, and lend our expertise. For the past six years, I have been a Middle School Science Teacher. In addition to immensely enjoying the classroom experience, I have always been fascinated with childbirth and women's health, and decided to pursue a career in birth-work.
After studying Exercise Physiology at UNC Pembroke, I attended a massage therapy program in my home town, Charlotte, NC. I attained my massage license in 2010 and have been practicing bodywork ever since.
As a massage therapist, I naturally found my niche, working with pregnant women through pre-natal massage, and now, combined with my experience as a mother, I am able to combine my skills, knowledge, and education, to assist fellow moms and their families. This opportunity to work with Bridge Doula is exciting for me.

I am a 2006 graduate of the Denver School of Massage Therapy in Denver, Colorado. After graduating, I was a licensed and practicing Massage Therapist for ten years. I practiced in the Denver area for more than four years before relocating to Springfield, Missouri, where I opened my own successful massage clinic.
My husband and I have been married for seven years, and together we are raising our feisty two-year-old daughter, Jane. While most of my days are creatively spent with my little redhead, I also teach marriage workshops and volunteer in a leadership development role at Elevation Church. My background in counseling includes small group sessions working through grief and life transitions as well as premarital and marriage coaching.
