Services
Crates Funeral & Cremation Services has been serving Findlay, Arlington, North Baltimore & Kenton area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come. Our firm traces its origin to a young Hancock County farm boy, Willis G."Billy" Coldren (1880-1947) who was born and raised on the limestone ridge near Vanlue.
Planning a funeral can be overwhelming, but you are not alone in this. We're here to support you throughout this journey and make this process one of love, healing, and life celebration. Below is some information to help you get started, but you can contact us at any time if you need help.

When a loved one dies at home or in a place that isn't a healthcare facility, you'll need to contact emergency personnel before they can be taken into our care.If your loved one was under medical care, it's a good idea to call their physician as well. If your loved one dies in a healthcare facility, they will notify the proper authorities, including the funeral home you have chosen to care for your loved one if they know that information.
Planning a funeral service can be a very difficult process for families who have just lost a loved one. But it's important to provide those who are grieving with a supportive environment in which they can begin to find closure, say goodbye, and come to terms with the loss.

Gathering with friends and family gives everyone the opportunity to connect, share memories, offer words of sympathy, and create a lasting network of comfort and support as they start the journey toward healing.Immediate burial means that your loved one will be buried or entombed without a public service or gathering.
Crates Brothers Memorials (a sister company to Coldren-Crates Funeral Homes), was started by Larry, Charlie and Jack Crates in 1976. We are based in Findlay with our largest lot located there (a smaller lot in North Baltimore). Our family is happy to help you with all types of memorialization; be it a traditional stone or a personal creation.
To help you understand all of the costs associated with a funeral service and make an informed decision, we've broken them down in our general price list. We also have a variety of payment options to ease the financial burden of honoring your loved one so that you can give them the service they deserve.

This is a beautiful facility with a comfortable refreshment area. There is plenty of space for friends and family to gather and share their memories. The services they offer are superb and can be tailored to meet the needs of the family during difficult times.

How does one rate a Funeral Parlor? It's something nobody wants to have to go through but inevitably most everybody does. I have attended more funerals at Coldren-Crates funeral home in downtown Findley than any other Funeral Parlor in the whole United States.(a given when your related to a fourth of the population between Hardin and Hancock counties). Coldren Crates does an excellent job of preparing the body of your loved one for their final journey. They have a beautiful Funeral Parlor and make their every effort to give your loved one a final goodbye they would be proud of.

Coldren-Crates has taken care of several of my loved ones and is an outstanding funeral home. They are professional and respectful to the family, and extremely caring. My grandmother passed a few months ago and her funeral, handled by another business in town, brought so much pain to our family by the way it was handled. I would only ever go with Coldren-Crates.

They have handled a few funerals for my family and have always done it with professionalism and kindness. The next door event space is also very nicely done if you need extra space.

Saddened by this funeral home... Two months ago a Marine friend passed away. Was told that Jack said they could keep his flag after the service. They took the flag back. This was the same funeral home that did my Grandpa's service and we were never harassed about the flag. They just received thousands of dollars and made a terrible stink over a $70 flag because the Indian family had not found his paperwork of proof yet. Disgusted and saddened how they have been treated by this funeral home. I hope they make it up to the family one day. The fact that I was told Jack flat out said to let them keep
