Services
There is a $1000 minimum for on-site services, excluding the travel fees. A travel fee per stylist will apply and will be determined according to the distance. For on-site weddings in Oakland, a starting price of $25 for the travel fee will be applied. Outside of Oakland, the travel fee will start at $50.
Jenifer Akagi and Maricell Cenidoza, co-owners of 77Salon Inc., are both Bay Area natives and started their careers in the beauty industry in 1993. They opened their salon in Oakland, California in 2008. The salon and its work has been featured in numerous magazines, and has been honored with many awards over the years.

Deeann is an artist. For years she's taken my fine, flat, mousy hair and created a masterpiece. I take her a photo of what I want and she gives me not only that but somehow personalizes it to suit me, every time. She's a master of her craft! I enjoy sitting in the chair and watching her work. It's like watching art come to life. She takes hair seriously and it shows.
The salon is beautiful and has a great vibe. Parking is easy (for Oakland). The products offered here are the best of the best - Kerastase, Shu Uemera (some of my favs).

I used to have my hair cut by Jenifer, one of 77 Salon’s owner, but I fell off her schedule post pandemic, and she’s literally booked out like 6-12 months in advance. Now, I just go with their next available stylist because they have consistently professional, well trained stylists across the board so even if I need an emergency haircut for a special occasion, I don’t have to fret.

If I could sum up 77Salon or more specifically Krista and Nora it would be "WOW!" It is insanely difficult to find a great hairstylist that goes the extra mile, actually listens to you, and will you give you their honest feedback. I hadn't gotten my hair done since the start of COVID and it was long overdo. I'll be honest and say it was like a rat's nest! Lol I asked around, and I was recommended this place by multiple friends and coworkers.

I'm a 20 yr customer of 77Salon. That's a good 10-12 services per yr for 20 yrs (haircuts, highlights, hair treatments). Let's do the math: 200-240 services = $20,000 over 20 yrs. And that's not including tips and products. Make no mistake - the stylists have all been good. Hence, I've been a 77Salon customer for 2 decades.

I got my hair cut and styled with Gina and I could not be happier with how it turned out. I was taking some graduation photos later in the day so I figured I could coincide it with the haircut and it was definitely the right call. I got a lob (long bob) with some curtain bangs and with just a general description she knew exactly what I wanted and executed it even better than I imagined. Thank you Gina!

When I read through the reviews and their website I was super excited to try out this salon. I had 1.5 hair growth from the pandemic and was looking forward to getting a style again. However, I was really disappointed by the experience. I wanted to go to CJ, but he was booked for 6 weeks so I went to Lisa instead. I had hoped that a "master" stylist would transform my hair. When I arrived the girl at the reception desk asked my name and then sat me at Lisa's chair and told me to wait. For 10 minutes I just looked around, feeling uncomfortable and ignored. eventually Lisa came out

My first experience was with CJ and he is truly a master in haircut, style and color. However, since it is hard to get appointments with CJ, if you want an appointment within two weeks, I gave Josette a go and booked a color and cut appointment with her. I am happy with the results! I have fine hair and it is not easy to get volume in it. However, Josette has great talent and I am happy with both, cut and color of my hair!

I first learned about 77Salon almost a decade ago when I searched for a stylist who specialized in curly hair. I came across Nikki at 77Salon, and have been seeing her regularly ever since! Her haircuts deserve hair stylist awards as far as I am concerned and I always get compliments on the haircuts that she gives. When I show Nikki a picture, or a few, to give her an idea of what I would like my hair to look like, she finds a way to give me a unique version based on my hair curl and thickness. Nikki is a talented gem, and when we take a pause to chat, we have fun banter.

Colorist was inexperienced and gave me hot roots(neon orange), ultra white highlights, and left color in so long(2 hours) my hair was breaking off. To top off an awful color job she kept pushing products on me and then became very rude when I only purchased one of the 4 products she showed me. For all this I paid almost $400.

This is the best salon! I searched for so long to find it. I actually save for a haircut there, I have my haircut about once every 5 months because they are so talented.
I have had expert color done and many haircuts at 77Salon, they are great!
I just had my bangs done and I love them! I rarely post photos like this and my smile is a little scrunchy but I love them!! Thanks 77 Salon!

I had the BEST experience with Krista! She is so incredibly talented, and so much fun! I haven't tried a new hairdresser in a very long time, and she made me so comfortable, and I absolutely love my cut and moisturizer/ shine treatment. I also had so much fun with her, that I didn't want to leave :) Thank you!! I will definitely be back!

Thank you, Lisa! Yesterday was my family's first experience at Salon 77. My high school senior gets her hair cut maybe twice a year. She's got that long, teenage hair thing going on and never wants to cut it. But she's a swimmer and it gets so dry. Her usual stylist's back went out and she had a college related gathering and REALLY needed a hair cut. The best part was the professional advice given to her and the care and tenderness when trying to understand my girls true needs! Experience: Came in for a wash & blowout with JD & I have to say, she's amazing. Very friendly & professional. My hair is straight & thick & normally can't hold a curl. She gave me so much volume & soft curls & I'm obsessed! I definitely recommend booking with JD!
Salon itself: This salon has such a chic and modern ambiance. I also love their wash bowls because the chairs have built in massage components. Everyone is super nice & accommodating.

So I stumbled on the Instagram page by chance once I learned of Jenifer's involvement with Alameda Boys & Girls Club donating haircut services.
I'm impressed of the owners love and pay back to help out the community they live in or store is located by various non profit! That is something you don't see often from for profit entities.
Secondly I really admire the love and passion the owners and their Top stylists giving to train their newer, younger not as experienced stylists.

8/24/16 - Another 5 star experience with cut by CJ and color by Yolanda.
7/5/17 As I get more gray we've tweaked my color process. I'm now getting base color with foil highlights and balayage around my face so it looks soft and natural when I ponytail. CJ's service today was beyond incredible. His work, including haircuts, are precise and impeccable. I highly recommend his work!

I just got home from my 8 hour color correction with Ashley, and I literally cannot express how amazing it is. Riley cut my hair a few days ago and gave me life. I went in for a trim and left with an actual style! Their teamwork in making this happen was amazing. I am so so so happy I actually cried. I am never letting anyone else touch my head. Just getting back from my dream honeymoon which followed my dream wedding in Oakland and need to write a quick review about my amazing hair/makeup by jenifer akagi and her team at 77salon. My husband's family have been going to jenifer akagi for years, mostly for haircuts/color and at least for one wedding hair/makeup or two! Brandon never fails to make my hair look amazing. He takes his time and makes sure that every piece of hair is perfectly cut - I love his attention to detail and the pride that he takes in his work. His haircuts always grow out really well too, which is always nice.
