I was always interested in photography. Growing up it was always my job to take pictures at family outings and events, This is why I do not appear in any family albums. During my high school years I used a very inexpensive film camera and took pictures of animals in the zoo, as well as figuring out how to use my $2.50 cent camera to take pictures through a microscope.
It's the one thing that affects not only every living thing, but also every non-living thing: no one can escape it, nothing is immune to it, yet we all wish we had more of it. For Laura Alberts, photography isn't so much about trying to freeze or capture a moment in time, as it is to reveal how she sees the world around her.
I'm a Landscape photographer on the North Fork of Long Island, NY. As you can see in my images, I love light. Beaches are a great place to unwind and take a mental note. Always striving to capture a scene that you, as consumers, can bring home and imagine yourself there. My farmscapes are a tribute to the equipment and tools used in agriculture.
I have enjoyed photography since high school. Photography took on a different meaning when it helped me pass the time during my military tour in Vietnam. I sent my images back home along with my letters to stay in touch. Having resided in St. James, NY for over 48 years, I would like to thank my lovely wife, Marilyn, and our two wonderful daughters, Jennifer and Kimberly, for being patient with me as I searched for the "Perfect Shot"!
I have been a professional photographer for more than 10 years. A lifetime of experience in Fine Art has prepared me to apply my artistic sensibility to my craft. Photography is my passion. I have been known to scrutinize and over-critique my work. I strive to strengthen my knowledge, understanding and skill, To better myself as a photographer.
