We are the only veterinary practice in Florence accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association, and have been for 60 years. To be accredited by AAHA, our practice must demonstrate an exceptional level of care for our patients. AAHA's rigorous standards cover every aspect of a companion animal hospital, which means that the veterinary service you receive from an AAHA accredited practice is among the finest.
Fisher Animal Hospital is a full-service hospital located in Florence, Alabama serving animals from Florence and all surrounding areas. We welcome patients in need of routine veterinary care, as well as emergency and urgent care during business hours. We offer routine vaccinations, dental scaling and cleaning, ultrasound capabilities, echocardiogram and other cardiac testing, as well as some orthopedic procedures.
Our appointment book is computerized, which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come in immediately.
We are excited to be able to offer day care at our new "Digs Pet Resort." The purpose of Digs Daycare and boarding is to provide a safe, fun and stimulating environment for dogs during weekday business hours. Reservations are required for doggy daycare, this will ensure that we have proper staff on hand in order to ensure the best possible experience for our dogs attending.
Puppy and Kitten visits are certainly the cutest visits we see at Fisher Animal Hospital but they are also crucial to getting your new friend off to a healthy start. During your puppy and kitten visits our staff will take time to discuss many aspects of pet ownership including food selection, behavioral tips and benefits of spaying and neutering pets.

Dr. Emerald Barrett is a GEM, pun totally intended. My beautiful baby just turned 16 in October and she wouldn't be here without Dr. Barrett. Piggy, my Jack Russell/Beagle mix, suffered from oral sarcoma and Dr. B got us in touch with the BEST surgeon. Although my love lost her bottom jaw, Dr. B helped us train her to eat and she's alive and well! I cannot recommend Fisher Animal Hospital enough. They are so kind to my puppy and they know her by name. A lot of people don't understand what pets mean to us but the staff here "gets it." I would give 10 stars if I could

My cat went into labor and then got into trouble. Had to have emergency surgery. They got her in quickly. Staff was so sweet and made sure I knew what to do for the babies until mama cat woke up. Every one I met was very sweet and kind. Mama and babies all are doing great thanks to Fisher Animal Hospital!!

Went in with a sick dog with no appointment they was real nice and said they could work me in if I wanted to wait Was not a long wait. They was very caring. I would recommend them to any one who needs a vet and the price was not bad at all. They really care about your pet. Very nice place to go clean and roomy. Separate waiting room for cats to make it better for owners so dogs don't scare them.

I would have given 5 stars because of the cost, quickness to accommodate, speedy response to email, & friendliness over the phone, BUT when my fur baby was returned to me, she struggled to breathe for the several hours it took to get her cooled down & hydrated, she wheezed for 2 days, & coughed up/vomited up pieces of the toy I specifically told the staff was for 1:1 time with a caregiver only & she could not be left alone with because she would eat it & choke on it. My son had to go back later to get her bedding; apparently they washed it because "she messed it up", although they didn't say how

This is going to be long, but it’s warranted. We have traveled for the past 3 years due to my husbands job. We’ve been in 4 states and different cities. We have had Vets in every place we stayed. Bar none, Fisher Animal Hospital was a good find! When a Veterinarian recommended them to us for boarding, we found out they were what we were looking for. They let us tour the kennels ahead of time. Not all facilities will. We loved this Vet Hospital and the boarding staff and facility. It’s clean and a nice newer building. Most importantly, our two German Shepherds, who are not friendly to strangers

I wish I could give more stars to Dr. Fisher and his staff! Every person at this business is top notch. My cat passed away recently after a brief illness and they treated me and my kitty with so much compassion. Their bedside manner was far superior to any other vet I've visited in the past. I can't say thank you enough to everyone at Fisher for helping me through this difficult time.

You couldn't ask for a better experience for our dogs. While temporarily in Florence, AL for 6 months, due to my husbands job, this Veterinary Hospital was highly recommended by another Veterinarian in town when we needed dog boarding. The staff is super accommodating, sweet, and loving toward all animals. Our dogs get excited when they hear they are going to Fisher camp. They can't wait to see their favorite staff members in the kennel and run and whine when they see them. We have boarded at other facilities, where our dogs didn't feel comfortable and showed signs of stress approaching

I have nothing but good to say about these people !! Have been using them on and off for 11 years. My new adoption ( Teddy ) was heart worm
positive and they guided me through the long tedious process and cured him to full health. They treat both of my dogs wonderfully ( Stimpy can be testy sometimes) but they take him in stride. I know a couple of the Doctors and three of the receptionists there and a they ALL handle things the way they should. Taylor is very sweet and helped calm me down when I got nervous by talking with me and taking my mind off of the stressful situation with the heart worm

First off, I can not comment on the doctor or the facility. They may be wonderful. However, I can tell you that customer service and basic manners are a no-go with the person I spoke to named Sarah. I asked her how she was, she said simply "busy". I can definitely understand being busy but you still need to help your clients to happily. They are afterall, the people that pay your paycheck. I asked a question of her and she put me on hold without asking first. She said simply "hold" then clicked off the line. Then when she picked the phone back up, she rushed me through my question
