Arlington Aikido
Aikido is a dynamic, non-violent and powerful martial art which is based on circular/non-linear/sword movements, and blending with one or more attackers, throwing or pinning them into submission. Wooden Sword ( Bokken ) and staff ( Jo ) are also used in training. Our program is based on traditional martial art.

Progress comes to those who train and train; reliance on secret techniques will get you nowhere. 1815 New York Ave. Mastery of Aikido is to achieve the proper state of non linear movement ( flow ) and becoming physically / mentally centered which is only achieved by regular proper training. Aikido is not using physical strength and linear movements.

Cel phones must be turned off or vibrate mode only for visitors / students and quietly leave the room to use your phone, no talking. No drinks or food allowed inside the training room. Students must bow to the front when entering and leaving.

The objective for all students must be learning to blend with attacks from one or more attacker with proper movement, flow and control / throw the attacker without being forceful, remember that if you use force, a trained person can use it against you.As an aikido practitioner, you must learn to stay centered, break the opponent's center, use the energy from their attack and not to give energy to an attacker to be used against you.
Instructor may consider a younger child who is interested to learn Aikido after consulting with parents and evaluating the child. Mat fee / class for a visitor from any other Aikido dojo is $20 and please call in advance, absolutely no walk ins to train. Aggressive visiting Aikido practitioners who use their physical size / strength instead of proper movement or if not familiar with Suwariwaza and weapons will not be allowed to train.
