Services
Our services include well and comprehensive exams, in patient surgical procedures, ultrasound, x-ray, dental hygiene, medicines, prescription diets and individual suite boarding facilities. Flea and tick prevention keeps your pet healthy. Your pet won't pick up tapeworms or have flea bites that cause itching misery and flea allergy dermatitis.
Dr. Barron is proud to offer a cage free option for your boarding facility needs. Southern Animal Hospital and Pet Resort offers individual suites to board your animal. The suites are heated and cooled and have individual lighting and a window to allow us to see your pet without disrupting their sleep or fun time.

My Gizmo Passed Away today😩😩 I Called this Morning and I was sent to Voicemail, Then I was given a number, Dr. Barron did text me back and Said he was ‘ out of Pocket’ meaning out of town I’m assuming!! Gizmo is as a Healthy 12 yr old!! He had just received all his annual Shots just 4 days earlier and Now my Baby is GONE, The Pain I’m in is UNEXPLAINABLE!!!!😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩

The best vet in the area! I drive 45 minutes to take my fur babies here. The staff is friendly, Dr Barron is knowledgeable, and the business is one of the most honorable ones I've ever known; they don't overcharge anything and continually surprise me with their low rates but high quality. I wouldn't recommend you take your pets anywhere else!

After having absolutely horrible experiences’ with other vets in the Pike County area. It was such a blessing to find Dr. Barron and his staff, they are the most respectful and understanding vet I’ve ever used. They go above and beyond for the animals and their owners, we will always use Dr. Barron for all of animals and very highly recommended them to anyone looking for veterinary care in our area!
