Woodland serves all of Jefferson City and its surrounding area. We are located on the east end, making it especially convenient for Linn, Taos, and Loosecreek. If you meet our veterinarians, you will love them. We even have clients that continue to come to them while living in Columbia, at The Lake, and in Springfield.
When it comes to your beloved pets, you want to know you are getting the best care in a safe, comfortable environment. Woodland Animal Hospital is a place where both you and your pets can feel at home. We understand that your pets are part of your family. You love and cherish them and want a vet who will care for them like her own.

Services
Woodland Animal Hospital is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical and surgical care. At Woodland Animal Hospital we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years.
I wish to say a couple of words about my staff as they are far too humble to toot their own horn. April Dyer, my office manager, is really far too skilled just to give her one title. Her patience and ability to multitask keeps our team running cohesively. She has an intuitive sense about animals and their behavior.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
I grew up in Jefferson City and had every intention of leaving small town life once I left for college. I earned my BA from the University of Notre Dame in 1987. From there I moved to Chicago, IL and worked in finance and investments for several years. It was at this time I realized that there was no position on the corporate ladder that I wanted more than pursuing a career combining my love of animals and life long interest in medicine.
I grew up in Linn, MO, and graduated from Helias High School here in Jefferson City. I then attended MU, earning a B.S. in Animal Science. I am married with three great kids, three dogs and two cats. I am also a Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator. In the springtime, our little zoo will fluctuate with babies as I greatly enjoy taking in orphaned and injured babies.

Our ferret got ill over the weekend and we called first thing Monday morning. They were able to see him immediately and tried everything they could for our little angel. The vet and staff are very compassionate, respectful to your love of your pet and were very thorough. I highly recommend them because everyone else in our area turned us away because of him being a ferret and they were very knowledgeable about ferrets. They took very good care of him and made him very comfortable.

My daughters' and I took 5 baby opossums, that we were bottle feeding. We brought the babies to Woodland Animal Hospital, because, there is a trained caregiver. The caregiver took care of them, until they were ready to be released into the wild. I was very thankful for the communication and the care and concern, that was provided for the wild animals.

They took amazing care of my pet, thorough examination, cost is a bit more expensive than others but well worth it for the care they provide. I've been looking for over a year to find a vet since mine left area and finally am thrilled to have one. STAFF super friendly, even as busy as they were, they took time to review everything with me and really appear to actually care about your pet. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is grooming was very uneven (clearly noticeable) at neck, however everywhere else was as I requested and since 1st time getting her done at this facility I have no doubt it will
