Our owner, Nelson Hernandez, began with a small crew more than 30 years ago. They did small jobs and invested the majority of their profits back to the company. After being incorporated in 1991, N & H GENERAL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY INC in Poolesville, Maryland continued to grow-even becoming one of the largest subcontractors in the area today!

When the housing market took a nosedive beginning in 2006, our company began looking for other ways to create revenue and keep everyone working. We obtained MBE and DBE certification and began bidding our way into small to medium-sized commercial concrete projects. We also began building our own homes about this same time, accumulating a modest lot inventory along with developing our first subdivision.
Services
Working with concrete requires precision and skill. It isn't like other building components that can be detached or relocated if you miscalculate. Make sure you turn to N & H GENERAL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY INC for any and all concrete work you need done. We have the expertise to form and pour just about anything!
Contrary to their name, most home builders don't actually do the building. They'll need an unimaginable count of personnel, equipment, and resources to be able to provide services of all building trade entirely in-house. So, what do they do? They rely on subcontractors! Subcontractors can be working for several builders at the same time.
At N & H GENERAL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY INC, we understand that the foundation is arguably the most important part of any structure. Everything depends on it being structurally sound, square, and level. If it isn't done right, then nothing built on top of it will be either. We've been building quality foundations for more than 25 years for big and small builders alike.
A company's survival sometimes depends on how well it can adapt to changing conditions. Back in 2006 when the housing market all but dried up, we were compelled to do just that. We obtained MBE and DBE certification from the Maryland Department of Transportation and began bidding some small to medium commercial jobs throughout the area.
Due to the weak housing market in 2005, people began sprucing up their homes instead of attempting to trade up. Since our company has already been building new homes by that, it was only a matter of time before we began doing additions as well. In some ways, additions are more difficult to do than new homes.
