Joyful Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, formerly known as Fredric Tatel and Associates is one of the oldest established pediatric dental practices in the southwest suburbs. Dr. McDonald was an associate at Fredric Tatel and Associates and the practice was transitioned to her in February of 2017. Dr. McDonald was selected because of her ability to provide patients with the same level of care.
As the name suggests, preventive dental care is the act of caring the teeth to keep it fit and healthy. A routine preventive dental care can help children avoid cavities, gingivitis, gum infections, enamel wear, space deficiency etc. We provide a wide array of dental care services. Dental Prophylaxis is the medical term for 'professional dental cleaning'.

Basically, it helps increase cooperation and reduces anxiety and discomfort during the course of the treatment. Nitrous Oxide, also known as laughing gas, is the weakest sedative used in pediatric dentistry.

I brought my 6 year old daughter here for her first exam in quite some time. She was VERY scared and extraordinarily inquisitive of every single thing the dentist or assistant was doing. I believe she even took a small bite out of the assistant Maddison’s finger at one point (lol she was okay)! The staff and every aspect of the visit was so friendly and smooth. I recommend this place to anybody who’s even remotely thinking about going here. The waiting room was decorated and had three little stations for kids to play on computers while they waited. 10/10 experience for both myself and my daughter

I cannot say enough about how amazing the entire staff is ! From reception to Physicians they make sure the littles they service are completely comfortable and happy to be at the dentist. We have spent 4 years looking for the perfect place after being failed and fear bound due to some pure bad experiences at other offices . I encourage everyone to take the time to make the switch to Joyful Smiles , you and your child will not regret it !

We love the Joyful Smiles team!!! When you walk in the door you are taken care of the way you want your child to be taken care of. As a nurse myself, I have never seen a facility that puts kids first with everything they do like this place. I would highly recommend any parent to go and take their children to this Office!!

Dr. McDonald and her team are the BEST!!! My daughter had a bad experience with going to the Dentist and it took me almost 2 years to get her back into another dental office! I did my research and found Joyful Smiles Pediatric Dentistry in Bradley very close to my home. I am so happy I did my research! My daughter has overcome her fears of going to a dentist. My son has never been to a dentist so he was very shy when going in, but they made him feel like he was at home. He warmed up pretty quickly. After a bad experience at a previous dentist Joyful Smiles was definitely a breath of fresh air. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a dentist for their child or children.
