Amanda is amazing! I cannot say enough nice things about my experience. She took a disaster of a haircut that I got at a different place and turned it into something even better than what I had in mind. It feels like she worked literal magic. She was so sweet and bubbly, it was my first time meeting her but it felt like we had talked for ages.

I had trouble getting an appointment with my old salon, so I decided to try Hair We Are out since I was long overdue for a cut. Out of all the salons I’ve been to, my hairs never looked or felt this good.
Everyone was really nice and welcoming. I was a stylist named Emily and she was great, very friendly and offered suggestions that turned out great. I didn’t want to do anything too dramatic since it was my first time here, just a simple cut and treatment to revive my overprocessed hair, but I’m really happy with the result. We had a really wonderful first appointment at Hair We Are! We had bad tangles and I was afraid we were going to lose my daughter's beautiful long hair. You would not believe how amazing it was. At first we thought we would be lucky if there was enough hair left for a pixie cut. Our stylist disappeared for a few minutes, then got started. Over the next few minutes, another stylist and the owner came to help! They shared tips and tricks and managed to save almost all of her hair, and gave her a great cut!

The person who did my hair was named Emily and she was SO nice and patient. She did my hair amazingly and the curls she did on my hair are gorgeous!! She got my haircut perfect and I was terrified to get my haircut since the last time I did was at hair cuttery in Elizabeth City NC and they honestly didn't do too great so we came up here after months of begging to go,, but I was so surprised and happy when my hair turned out well here! 100/10. Amazing service and super fast to get started on my hair! I'll definitely come back for my next haircut!

Emily is amazing! I like most came in with an inspiration pic and she took her time to break down what would work and what wouldn’t with my hair. Then cut a masterpiece! She was super personable and very sweet. I’ve found my go to stylist! The vibe in the salon was pleasant as well! Everyone was friendly and you could tell everyone actually enjoyed what they were doing! Love this place and my girl Emily!

I usually don't write bad reviews. But.. I went in for a cut and style, big curls and some volume in the front. I have never been to a place to get my hair styled and they didn't use some product. Especially if it's rainy and cloudy outside and knowing I'm getting my hair done for a photoshoot outside later that day. I don't look for perfection, but my hair was frizzy even before I left the salon! I asked for big curles and got a beach wave/ curl I knew it wasn't going to get better in that seat so I said it was good. And she used like barely any hair spray. I did enjoy talking to the stylist,

*update: after a few weeks and a few washes, my color evened out though of course it did lighten more. Perhaps this is all a part of the normal doing process, I was a dye virgin so this is all new to me. I also used some good conditioner provided by the salon and it seems to be helping restore the health to my hair.

I just got a haircut here and I can't speak highly enough of the stylist and the whole experience. The staff were all courteous and the space was very clean. The stylist, Emily Millington, was very thorough. She made sure to understand exactly what I wanted, and I could tell right away that she cares a great deal about producing the right outcome for her clients. She 100% nailed it. I'm so glad I found such a gem of a stylist!

I was in desperate need of a haircut, and I happened to stumble upon Hair We Are in a google search. I booked the first available appt, which happened to be with Emily. She was such a gem, and gave me a fantastic haircut! Super friendly, very knowledgeable. Will definitely be a repeat client of hers, and already booked my husband a haircut. Everyone working in the salon was very friendly too! So happy I found this cute little salon (the shop dog is adorable FYI). Thanks again!

Melissa Brooks is normally very professional and friendly. Today, midway through my haircut I asked her if she could go a little shorter with my bangs and if that would mess everything up. She said she could do it. Visibly annoyed, she started tugging at my hair and exclaimed, "now I'm going to have to soften the whole thing all over again." Being that I am not a hair dresser, I wouldn't know this. I thought should would just need to trim the bang, but I apologized nevertheless. When I checked out, I gave her a 40% tip in order to support her small business because of COVID

This is literally the only place I go to get my hair did. Jessie is who has been doing my hair for years, and she literally always does such beautiful work.
The salon itself is a wonderful place to be in- the ambiance is nice, and almost like you're going to a family's salon. I feel like anyone would do a beautiful job here- I would trust literally any of the hair stylists to do my hair, but Jessie is who I happened to have been seeing (and will never see anyone else for as long as I can).

I love coming here and getting my hair done by Jane. We've gone light we've gone dark and with me having Asian hair there's never an issue with brassiness. And I always walk out feeling like what I paid was worth it. Every aspect of this salon is up to par from haircuts, coloring, products, recommendations and customer service.

By referral I made an appointment at Hair We Are with Destiny for the first time. She got me right in at my scheduled appointment time (minimal wait time). Throughout the process Destiny was kind, genuine, gentle and patient. She gave me some fantastic highlights & the perfect cut. She kept me comfortable the entire time and I could not believe the end result and how perfect the highlights were. She had the color spot on. Erin Wilson is bubbly, personable and made my 5 year old laugh , smile & talk all while cutting 2 inches off (which I was sure she would cry about). Erin was great with her and she takes her time. I see Paisley for my hair and she always does an amazing job with the color! he always gets the right shade of blonde every time and doesn't over process or fry my hair, in fact I always leave feeling like my hair is silky ,healthy and vibrant!

This review is long overdue! Coming in from another state is daunting when tryig to find that place/ stylist that gets you and delivers. I was nervous on top of that because I grew out my pixie and did not color it for over a year before deciding I needed to get on with it! I called and set up an appointment with Rachel, who was recommended by the receptionist because of her balayage skills. I couldn't have been happier with the results! She was very honest, personable and listened to me which immediately put me at ease. It was actually fun to get my hair cut and colored at a new place!! And

I got over charged at this salon, color and cut for $350 and it wasn't very worth it. The hairstylist didn't do whatever we talked about during the consultation such as she charged me $60 for babylights and i ended up having none! I am so upset because i saved for that $350 to get the hair that I want. She said she'll fix my hair but will charge me again. Wow!

Last year, I moved to Virginia and was afraid I wasn't ever going to find a good go-to hair salon. Someone who knew how to cut/color my full, frizzy head of hair. After reading good reviews, I booked an appointment with Rachel and let's just say, No one's touched my hair other than her since! Having long hair for 7 years, afraid of going short, Rachel chopped over 8 inches and I love it!
The staff is very sweet and hours are accommodating for someone who works a 9-5. You won't be disappointed!

Lillian is the best! I walk in, sit down, and I trust her with my hair! It's great that she can use my head for her artistic canvas and I have never been disappointed!
She adores trying out new techniques and is so cute when she gets excited about how something turned out!
