The bar and front door service was great. Things changed when the party guest I was with and myself was treat with disrespect from our waiter, Johnathan. He was very rude, hostile, he was cutting us off when ordering or letting him know anything that was incorrect pertaining to our orders, he rolled his eyes every time he came back to serve us, he claimed we did not pay for a drink when he actually forgot to bring us one drink, he was checking his watch as we ordered as If he doesn’t have time to collect them. The food and drinks were excellent. Great wine selection and mixed drinks. We had the fried crab claws and the tamales, both delicious appetizers. Waiter was kind, knowledgable and fast, great service. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. For desert we had bread pudding with ice cream it was Devine. Overall great atmosphere and great place to go with 2 people or a group. We will definitely visit again.

Exceptional food and service! The Best Filet in this area. Moved here from Dallas and New York and while there are many very good 5 Star restaurants there, they hold no candle over Shapley’s! Best steaks, lamb and sides.
Bread pudding was delicious but serving was overwhelming large!

Delicious ribeye steak and red wine, definitely lives up the hype, so glad I took my guy for his birthday dinner there! Not a huge meat eater but made an exception for a place known for amazing steaks and I’m glad I did!

Will not disappoint! Perfect for a casual/fine dining experience. Service is excellent. They are tried and true- been around a long time. Steak was good but I got a wagyu cut that was hard to tell it was truly wagyu. Good nonetheless... as all the food was. My diet is 90% animal-based so steak is my thing, and I'm coming here after eating at Prime 44 in Starkville where they source their meat from Halpern's in Atlanta. Shapley's is probably the Best in the Jackson area. And yes, I've eaten at Char. Not bad - this is better.

Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere. Took my wife out for her birthday and had a very quality date night. John was outstanding with service and food was top shelf. Thoroughly enjoyed this dinner

Great gluten free/dairy free meal! The marinated crab claw appetizer was a surprise to see on a menu- we've travelled a lot and always happy to see something different that's gluten free and tasty. Highly recommend that appetizer! The steak was fantastic and my husband's (not gluten free and very full of dairy) stuffed shrimp dinner was incredible. Lovely service and the dining room noise level was refreshingly easy to converse in without shouting.

The service was excellent and that is why there are three stars. The fillets were cooked to the correct temperature but they were charred. There was no steak flavor other than the charred/burned outside. The steaks were served on a plate of some oil like flavorless liquid. My daughter and I were both disappointed with our entrees. We ordered dessert and the creme brûlée was the best I have ever order in a restaurant.

I must say the fillet the red fish unbelievable. Went back to Shapley’s after years of not eating there, I must say what a treat. The Steak was cooked perfect, redfish covered with crab great had a Caesar salad super. The staff great!!! This place is a classic. The Bar looked great. Food a 10.

Shapley's is truly one of the finest restaurants my wife and I have ever been to. The food is absolutely exquisite. Gordon Ramsay would even fall in love with the food. Mark and Mary are truly wonderful. They have a product like no other. Wonderful staff unseen in this day and age. If you haven't been to Shapley's, you don't know what you're missing.

We've been traveling for the past 3 weeks in 12 different states. This was, hands down, the best meal of the trip. The food and staff were amazing. Robert took care of us and made sure we had everything we could want or need. The atmosphere was very pleasant also. This is a nice restaurant and well worth the visit. I highly recommend a visit if you are able to. I would give it more stars if it was possible.

I went here for my birthday and it was a nice treat! We started with the crab claws to starters, then split a porter house filet. It was flavorful and filling. We finished with some chocolate cake. Service was good, will be back again.

Great food and service. Tuna appetizer was very good. Salad dressing was nice (peppercorn Parmesan). Entrees (ribeye and the special: rack of lamb, filet, and shrimp/scallop skewers) were very good though they didn't have the porterhouse despite it being on the menu. Sides were good but not great (fries were kind of soggy and asparagus was just okay). Desert and drinks were so-so and are the only real drawback. Appropriately priced for the quality of food you get. Will definitely be going back and want to try some fish.

As you can see maybe we hit 120 degrees and why burn the the outside up
I hate when a so called high class restaurant drowns your steak in clarified butter and is cheap on the salt and pepper
Also the menu said that steak, come with the classic fries but we received one basket of fries for the entire table

As you can see from the photo of the au gratin potatoes was nothing but thick oil
apparently much like burning beef they like to burn the vegetables as well

5 stars all the way. Excellent place! The quality is 10 stars! Redfish was large and fluffy, and the filet was thick and excellent.

This was my first time experiencing MM Shapley's and May I say what an experience it was! Everything was great from the service to the food! The staff was so attentive, my glass was never empty...not even 1/3 of the way empty! Major shoutout to our waiter The Bearded Wonder J for his hospitality and recommendation! MM Shapley's is my new favorite place! It's a little expensive, but well worth the money! MM Shapley's you'll be seeing me again!

My fiancé and I stopped in Shapley's for the first time tonight. From the moment we walked through the door I knew it was going to be a fantastic experience. We were greeted right away and the host took us to our table. The venue is so nice! Our table was a nice private spot where you can sit, have a meal and enjoy the company of your guest. We ordered the fried crab claws for an appetizer. They were cooked to perfection. They come with two sauces to dip them in and both were to die for. Next we both ordered steaks. The steaks come with a salad and fries. We had the house made Parmesan peppercorn

What an amazing find! The tamales are a must for authentic tamales! Lamb chops were delicious and the bread pudding was a so good I will be back in August!!

Salmon with creamy dill sauce was perfection and the asparagus seasoned prepared tender, delicious. Potatoes were my hubby’s fave ... we both kept raving about our meal from start to finish. Jake, our waiter had personality plus and added to our delightful, post Valentines dinner at Shapleys. Thank you we were not disappointed!
