CASTELTON, located in Rutland County is about 15 miles west of Rutland and about 5 miles from the New York border. The city of Rutland is the seat of Rutland County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 16,495. It is located approximately 65 miles north of the Massachusetts state line and 20 miles east of the New York state line. Rutland is the third largest city in Vermont and is surrounded by the town of Rutland, a separate municipality.
WEST RUTLAND, Located west of the larger Rutland City, West Rutland's origins revolve around the marble industry. This has created a rich cultural heritage, stemming from a time when the streets and quarries were filled with exotic voices of the immigrant laborers. We are tucked away in between the Taconic Mountain Range and the main range of the Green Mountains.
