Couldn't ask for a kinder & more helpful vet! There is someone there 24/7 to answer the emergency line & to keep tabs on any pets there for any overnight length. They do their best to accommodate you & your pets' needs & go out of their way to help everyone & answer any questions. Haven't met a doctor there we haven't loved. They saved both my dog's & cat's lives when their original vets "weren't available " or would take several WEEKS to fit them in.

I had an unfortunate emergency with my cat today. My regular vet could not see me and I knew something was very wrong so I called Rockaway Animal Hospital. The girls on the phone were all very courteous and responsive. Being that I was not a patient of theirs they still worked with me and fit me in today. I cannot thank the doctors & staff enough for all they did for our kitten who fell very ill. The care and amount of love they gave him is unbelievable. I have never experienced this before with any Veterinary office. When our family went for 3 weeks to visit our kitten we were always welcomed with open arms and encouraged to visit. The staff is so affectionate with all the animals and make you feel a little better leaving them behind. Osiris is back home with us and we couldn’t be happier. I never give five stars but Dr. Manier and his team are the best on Earth. Seriously my puppy has been a huge barker his entire life and never barks at the doc. He knows he's in such good hands. Recently he had Anaplasmosis and Dr.Manier isolated it instantly and produced a solution. I recently had to let my 14 year old chocolate lab cross over the Rainbow Bridge. These workers and Vets @ Rockaway Animal Clinic are the most caring & compassionate people when it comes to our pets! I would recommend them to anyone who cares about their pets, & their pets health & well being. During a time when every vet says “sorry. We are booked” Rockaway took my Bubba in without question. I called with an emergency at 4pm and they were fully booked but took him as a patient. I brought him straight in and they started caring for him as soon as I got there. I was blown away. I haven’t seen a vet in this area that cares as much for your pets as Rockaway. Great first experience here, really appreciated that even though it was busy, we got seen quickly and there was clearly enough staff working to handle the load. The doctor was enthusiastic, friendly, and very clear with his explanations and recommendations. They also charged very reasonable rates. I recently switch my French Bulldog "Griffin" to Rockaway Animal Hospital after multiple recommendations and couldn't be happier.

Today me and my family had to say goodbye to our best friend after 14 years of unconditional love. Rockaway hospital has been helping me battle his cancer for a couple months now and have been amazing with us. We had an emergency this morning and they brought us right in and did everything they could. But unfortunately we had to put him down for his quality of life. I may be writing this review a little prematurely since my puppy is still in the care of Rockaway Animal Hospital but they have been nothing short of AMAZING. Any review on here that is less than a 5 is irrelevant.
This past weekend, my 7 month old Shih Tzu, Ace, would not eat or drink anything and his stool was black. I immediately called a few places to see who was open and let them know his symptoms. Every place I called said his symptoms were extremely urgent but the wait was 6+ hours. Being that he is still a puppy and is a small breed, I did not feel like his symptoms could wait 6+ hours

I could not recommend this place enough! The doctors are the nicest people I have ever dealt with. They are so caring and I feel they are trying to do what is best while still giving all of the options. I foster dogs so many come without valid records and these docs have worked to help them all. The only reason for 4 stars is the communication and lots of back and forth. I know they are busy and it's covid so that makes everything difficult and that is why I would still without a doubt recommend them

Honestly can't recommend Rockaway Animal Hospital. We took my cat there for the 1st time on Saturday, the vet tech was clueless and I got my cat back with urine all over her and 2 claws not clipped....Then, I got a call that the stool results came back positive for some parasites and I need to give her meds. I say I'll pick meds up around 6pm. I was told there's 2 rounds of meds, but I'll get this first. Ok, fine....With 2 kids in tow, I had to wait 20 min to get the meds. I then said I wanted a copy of the records so far and was told they couldn't give me anything until

I am changing my review from 1 to 3 stars. Dr Maniar handled my issue personally. While I am still not happy that it had to come to that I am grateful that he reached out personally and solved my issue. He is a great vet and very knowledgeable and very passionate about what he does. Thank you again for personally reaching out to me. And thank you for all that you do for the animals. Dr. Maniar has no equal as far as we're concerned. And I used to work at the ASPCA in NYC and know a good vet when I see one. Dr. M is not only highly skilled, he's intuitive, and has a beautiful way with animals. This practice isn't looking to break the bank, and it doesn't; believe it or not, Rockaway Animal Hospital actually places your pet above all else. Can't explain the gratitude I feel with Dr Maniar, as soon as he touched Simba he knew something was wrong.So many things surprised me about this place, he agreed to see Simba after they were closed, he helped us in so many ways, so glad I found this hospital, he really cares about animals and he doesn't do this just for money, that's very hard to find! I just wanted to reiterate how amazing Rockaway Animal Hospital is. They truly care about the health and wellness of your pet, and do everything they can to put you at ease during the visits. The doctors and staff are wonderful. They really do what they can to make your pet (and you) comfortable. Dr. Maniar gets down on the floor to examine my dog and seems like he's just petting her when he's really checking her over. In addition to the excellent care, their fees are reasonable and you don't leave there feeling like you were billed for things your pet didn't need.

By far the best veterinarians around! I have been to many vets and never had anyone compare to Dr. Gannon & Dr. Maniar. They truly care about the animals they care for as well as the owners of the pet. I have been bringing my 4 dogs there for about 1 year and have never left displeased. Words cannot express the level of service we received for our little puppy. We had already sent her through three different doctors, and not one of them were able to figure out the cause of her seizures. Dr Maniar took her in as if she were his own, and he dedicated so much of his time to figure out the cause. At almost half the cost of their competitors, these guys clearly rely on high volume numbers. This does not mean they delivered subpar animal care--for that I cannot comment on because they didn't operate on me and I didn't watch the operation. What I can comment on is what I experienced.
The reason for leaving out the last star has to do with their communication. They did everything right..; call me with daily updates, explain medication procedures... But I don't feel like they exercised the proper patience a paying customer deserves
