William C. Van Derhoof Sr. started Van Derhoof Roofing with his brother, Fred, in 1939 at the age of 25. William served in the Army Air Force and was a veteran of World War ll. After he being honorably discharged, William came home to continue running the business. William focused on mainly commercial roofing, but also installed insulation and many store front windows.
In 1962, Fred Van Derhoof, William's brother and business partner, died and William ran the company alone until his son, Bill, took over. William was an accomplished violinist who enjoyed giving back to the community as a member of the Tigris Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters, Konosioni Lodge 950 F&AM, and a charter member of Valley American Legion Post 1468.

I've delayed writing this review as I have mixed feelings about Van Derhoof Roofing, but every time I stand under the drafty bathroom skylight they installed, I regret choosing them.
First, the positive: They came out right away, found a leak, and patched it. Next spring, they removed our old roof and installed a new one. We liked the crew that worked at our house and as far as we can tell, they did a great job installing asphalt shingles and flashing.
However, they also insisted on replacing a perfectly good skylight, and they did a poor job of that. The expensive new skylight doesn't fit properly

The building was very neat, and clean.The clerk to whom I paid my bill was neatly dressed, polite, courteous, well spoken, and very knowledgeable. They are the best when it comes to roofing. I had a metal roof and a rubberized roof put on in 2007, and it still looks like it was done yesterday. The crew did outstanding work, very neat, clean, and professional.

Jim came and saw the repair that was needed. He repaired the affected area. The leaky periphery of the chimney/vent was sealed beautifully! This repair saved me a $1,000.00; this was quoted by another roofer... I am a 79 year old woman and a sitting duck for anyone wanting to take advantage. Thankfully there are honest companies like Van Derhoof Roofing! So, a big THANK YOU!

Van Derhoof Roofing was amazing!!! ***If you have young children this is the company to go with.***
I called for an estimate, they sent someone out the next day. They stated they were booked up for most of the year, if I wanted to replace the whole roof they would have to wait til spring of next year. I asked if they were able to just do the top portion of my roof to get me through the winter with peace of mind. They were able to work with me and accommodate my request.
We ended up having a serious of storms and my roof leaked ( it was not leaking prior). I called to see if there was any way

Inspection of the home I bought recommended some work be done on the roof. I looked around for recommended roofers in the area. Van Derhoof had stellar reviews. I called and booked the work. Van Derhoof is responsive and does quality work. They left the home neat after working every day. They let me know what was going on and what I ought to expect. The work they did is excellent and my roof is in great shape. I highly recommend the good folks at Van Derhoof Roofing.

The staff were professional, kept me informed on additional repair/supplies needed to complete the job, and arrived on date as scheduled. Each day the yard was cleaned and supplies picked up and neatly set up for following day. Once the job was completed they reviewed what was done and the product that was applied.
I scheduled an estimate on line and was contacted within one day. The estimate was scheduled within one week and the job scheduled and completed within 6 weeks.
I would recommend them for a roofing installation.
