My main focus in photography has always been people; in the studio, on location and at events. I remember getting my first camera and doing "couples" portraits of my fifth grade school mates. It was too much fun. It still is. I love it when I know my work is makes a positive impact, when it makes people feel good about themselves.
When people feel good, the world is a better place. Creating quality images that people put to use is very satisfying. I'm doing it as much for myself as I am for my clients. My clients have rewarded me with a 5-Star rating on Google and a wealth of wonderful reviews for which I am grateful.

Sessions usually take about an hour or so and you are welcome to bring a change of clothing. We take plenty of shots and check them out as we go along so you can be sure you have an image you like. It's gradual process and always works out well. Most people feel a little nervous at first but that quickly disappears as we play around getting a good shots for you.
Location portraits give viewers insight into you and your profession. These are the great photos we see on the covers of trade journals and other magazines. They attract a viewer's attention and tell a story. Location sessions can be done almost anywhere and are the kind of photos people enjoy most.
This project is about producing a portfolio of original, black & white, film-based portraits of regional artists and makers to celebrate them and raise their profiles. The photos are shot on medium format B&W film using natural, window light and a simple dark gray background. Every day the light is different (like the weather).

When I was a photojournalist for various newspapers, the editors welcomed photos of people, places and things that readers would enjoy seeing. We called these unplanned, everyday photos "wild art" and they reflected life and culture as we lived it. My favorite photographers are people like Bill Owens, W. Eugene Smith and Dorothea Lange, each of whom left us a rich legacy of images showing us who we were.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality
I don't love being in front of the camera, but Bill immediately put me at ease. I was extremely nervous at first, but Bill's calm demeanor helped me to relax and enjoy the whole experience. His studio is lovely. The portraits he created of me were artistic, flattering and truly beautiful.

I worked with Bill about a month ago for his Artist and Maker Project. He made me feel at ease instantly as being a subject was not my most natural moment. We laughed and he really made me feel good. The studio was lovely, professional and private. It was a great experience with the best outcome. He captured exactly what and who I am. He is a true artist and gentleman. I highly recommend him!

Bill took professional headshots of me this year (2020). His studio was clean, peaceful and inviting. Bill was friendly, funny and comforting to work with. I am not a friend of the camera and Bill helped to coach me and gave me an interesting lesson on photography at the same time! Bill was able to draw out the best in me and create a picture that I actually liked! Actually many pictures I liked! He is professional and talented. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone!

I recently worked with Bill on photos for my Life & Business Success Coaching Business/Website. He took photos in his studio with a variety of backgrounds, with me and my puppy, and in a couple of locations in town. He took the time to show me the photos as we progressed throughout the shoot to ensure I was getting what I wanted. Bill is professional, detail oriented, flexible, fun, and focused on the client experience - which is exactly what I want from a professional photographer. Thank you, Bill for exceeding my expectations!

Q Research is a market research firm in Old Bridge. I was part of the team that hired him to photograph the qPod in use. The qPod is a large metal container where test respondents can smell but not see a product inside.
The task of how to film the product was not self evident, but Bill was excited upon seeing them. Quickly, he arranged the qPods and put the unexperienced models we hired at ease. The result was striking photos that three years later are still on the front page of our website, as well as in all our print literature.
As a graphic designer, I appreciate the value of great custom

Bill Brokaw did an amazing job photographing our wedding in Upper Black Eddy at the Bridgeton House in June 2014. The event planner at the Bridgeton House recommended him because he had photographed weddings at the inn before. He was very responsive to email communication and I had no worries leading up to the day. On the day he arrived early and did not require any real instruction from me. He took fantastic photographs of the ceremony, family, and pre-reception photos. He also made sure that he captured all the moments that were important to me. He had a great website set up to view the

I had a wonderful session with Bill. I just don't photograph well, but due to his creativity and flexibility my photos came out wonderfully. He was patient and really directed me as to what angles and lighting would work best for me. Everyone who sees my photos tells me thy look like the best version of me. I love that!

I had scheduled a session with this studio almost two months ago and two days prior to the shoot I received an email that he was no longer available. My parents had cut their vacation short in order to attend the session and I was moving across the county at the end of the week. This was extremely unprofessional of him. His excuse was that he had to drive his wife to the airport along with various other errands. I had purchased this as a present for my parents so needless to say my family is very upset and we've lost our chance to get a family portrait for a long time. Very disappointed in
