Wynter Poe DePriest is a Virginia Beach native who has over 10 years of salon industry experience. She started as a shampoo girl in her teens, working her way through an apprenticeship, and continues to strive for excellence in education and creativity.
She spent the last year working and training in NYC in Brocato color and DryBar styling techniques, and she is passionate about bringing the latest trends and techniques of hair and fashion to her Hampton Roads clientele.She is passionate about her salon suite, and she works hard to create an inviting and inspiring atmosphere for all who enter.

I was a first time client and was so excited about my appointment. The day before I double checked (since it was “supposed” to snow) that the appointment still stood & the stylist said it was and also agreed to play it by ear in case it did snow. Never heard from her again. The day of the appointment I drove over 30 minutes and waited until 2:28 for my 2:30 appointment. At 2:29 the stylist said she wasn’t coming in. Not a good first impression.

Wynter is the Queen of Color! If you're looking for something new, especially if you want to change up your color -- she is THEE person to do it. My poor hair was dyed with yellow zebra stripe highlights by another stylist and Wynter was not only able to beautifully blend it but also gave me the gorgeous balayage I was looking for. She truly is the best at what she does and you'll do yourself (and your hair) a disservice to go anywhere else!

Wynter is excellent at her craft and truly is one of the top color/hair educators and artists I've ever seen. Her humility and kindness seep into every aspect of her daily operations and she creates a beautiful atmosphere for her clients. This girl has taught me to always trust the process! Client education is key when it comes to a client knowing and understanding what is needed to achieve their desired look. Wynter always looks out for the health of my hair and always listens to what I want, then she talks me through the process and always lets me know what steps it will take to get there. The end result is always amazing. Now I feel comfortable enough to sit in her chair and say “Just do what you do, I trust you” because I know she’s going to make my hair look awesome even in “the in-between”. Also- she’s a diamond

When I moved to Virginia one of my friends recommended me Monarch Hair Salon. I hesitated to go because it was very far from my house but I’m so glad I made an appointment! I live in Chesapeake and I drive over 35 minutes just to see Wynter. She’s great. I’ve always been scared of cutting my hair too short, dying it too light, etc but Wynter always listens to what I want and need. She gives great advice and she’s great at her job! I’m so excited to see her soon!

Update: 2 months later and my hair is still snapping off on top. Won't hold any color no matter what I use. No matter how much I deep condition olaplex or anything. Horrible splotchy colors everywhere. And I'm a hairstylist that has to walk around like this. Will never forget the hair appointment that ruined my hair I worked for 2 years to repair.

We love Monarch Hair Co!! Wynter takes care of all of our daughters' hair as well as my wife's and they all love her. They all have different styles and personalities and Wynter always does a great job of finding just the right color/style for each of them. We are so excited she has her own salon now and scheduling appointments is super easy on her website. I highly recommend Wynter and the Monarch Hair Co team!
