He was inspired by his father, Mr. Armstead Townes, who was an entrepreneur and had several businesses that he founded and established to ensure the well-being of his family was maintained.
Mr. Armstead Townes left a legacy and inheritance and he imparted much knowledge to his sons and today they uphold the TOWNES legacy through several different businesses. Our virtuous jewel, Dartha Wren Blackburn was affectionately called "Madear". Her brother Major Wren and Sister Fannie Boyd both preceded her in death. She was united in holy matrimony to Sam "Big Boy" Blackburn. To this union 14 children were born; three sons. She is survived by her mother, Louise Hawkins, but not her father Benjamin Franklin Hawkins Sr. or her brothers Harry Hawkins and Dexter Hawkins.
