The Miami Animal Hospital of Miami Oklahoma has served northeast Oklahoma as well as southeastern Kansas and southwestern Missouri for over 60 years. Founded in 1950 by Dr. Luther Smith, the practice has persevered through adversity and has played an important role in the history of veterinary medicine both in Oklahoma and on a national level.
Dr. Smith graduated from Colorado State University after World War II. He was familiar with the Miami area because his father had visited the area as a food inspector. Dr. Smith built the practice in 1950, but in 1951 the nearby Neosho River flooded and all but the building's roof was submerged by water.

The vet themselves for good bets they never did a good job but the problem there was the receptionist was just rude I mean I don't know how to put it I don't want to give anybody a bad review but she was rude to us but as far as the rest of the staff they were really good they did their job they were polite but the receptionist it was just terrible the way she treated us

This place i highly recommend. I took my baby Ruby Sue in for a spay operation, she was extremely scared, she's never been away from me but, the young lady who took her was really gentle and nice to her so, she didn't get bit. Which I'm thankful for. I expected it. She had to stay for 2 days, which was really hard for both of us. When i picked her up, they didn't give me pain meds for her, i called and spoke to dr. Smith and he told me to come back, ge would provide me some for her. He was very helpful in explaining the dosage to give her and seemed genuinely concerned for her well being. They
