Jamie Furtado opened Five Star Automotive in 2004, and his family continues to run the shop, providing Patterson area drivers with quality auto repairs and smog inspections, as well as 4x4 modifications, an area where our services have grown significantly. I scheduled smog for my car which I do there to any of our vehicles because they are great! Service has always been excellent even when we need general work or repairs. Staff is always friendly and respectful. Sometimes we forget to call ahead and an walk in and if there is a gap in appointments I can leave our cars there and they will call when ready.

Best experience. They were able to diagnose and repair all issues quickly on our Buick. Car had been at a different shop (which we had been using for years, only to have their service to become shoddy in the last few months) for 2 months without being able to be diagnosed, was told nothing was wrong. 5 Star Auto is the only place our cars will be going to from now on! Courteous, professional service. Kept updated every step of the way. Simply the best!!

Very good service here, know what they are doing and are reasonably priced. Never feel like I'm getting ripped off especially as a woman it can be hard to find a good mechanic who doesn't take advantage of the fact that you know nothing about cars or prices etc. My mother has been coming here for years and she loves it too!

These guys are horrible! They say they are a smog check shop, but not exactly! They Can Not do all smog checks! They are also extremely over priced! They miss diagnosed my car, tore it apart, didn't do any work on it, and still charged me hundreds of dollars! Do Not Use these guys! Save yourself the money and frustration! Go somewhere else!

I called 2 weeks ago to schedule a smog. At the time I called I told them that the check engine light was on. They said that this would be an instant fail until work was completed. When I tried to drop the vehicle off they said they had no one available until Monday and that there was an additional $150 charge just to tell me what repairs were needed. Bullsh$&. I went to another business. I still have to wait until Monday but I don't have to pay crooks $150 to hook up my truck to the computer just to get the same codes that they get when they tried to do the smog. I will never go to 5

I'm honestly surprised by all the very dramatic and emotional negative reviews. They sound a bit contrived in my humble opinion. Unfortunately people seem to be more outspoken about their negative feelings than when one has had a positive experience. Dealing with cars and mechanical issues is not fun and can bring out the worst in any of us, for sure. It is also hard to find a trustworthy mechanics that you feel isn't trying to get something over on you. I too have felt like I've left a shop with my car having more problems then when I brought it in. That being said, I've taken

Never never ever going back to this place in my life I rather burn my car then take it here so over priced they charged me $423 for just labor and they didn't even fix the problem I fixed it myself there were saying it's the water pump and the end it was only 1 little holes that was leaking that cost $20 and they ended me charging me $630.

What a waste of time and money taking my car there. Honest business?? BS! when it comes to fixing car, i have no clue. So I'm pretty much relying on honest mechanic. They charged me just for diagnosis $140 which take them less then 10 mins to find the problem. Also told me $1,800 to fix it. I took my car to a different place within 5 mins away and for diagnosis was only $70 and to fix it $450.
I would not suggest anyone or my own families to go there, where they over charged big time.
The biggest regrets I ever made! Urgh!
