A dental prophylaxis is a dental procedure which is performed with the goal of reducing the risk of gum and tooth disease. Also known simply as a prophylaxis or prophy, this procedure is recommended at intervals which can vary from six months to two years, depending on a patient's history. It is performed by a dentist or licensed dental hygienist who has received specialized training in tooth care.
In a dental prophylaxis, the technician performs both scaling and polishing. During the scaling process, tools are used to remove tartar, plaque, and stains from the teeth, including below the gum line. The polishing process smooths the teeth to remove rough spots which might otherwise attract bacteria.

I have over 40 years of experience in dentistry, the frist 17 in the former Czechoslovakia. I was licensed in California in 1996, and am practicing in the area since 1997. I am a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, CDA, KCDS, and ASFO. My wife Elena was my schoolmate and practiced dentistry in the former Czechoslovakia for over seventeen years.
We opened our practice in the area in 1997. At that time, it was located in Lake of the Woods, and had only two operatories. Our present office in Lebec was built in 2006, and we opened its doors at the beginning of 2007. We now have five treatment rooms all equipped with digital x-rays, and other state-of-the art equipment.

Thank you Dr. Porazik! I have been a patient of his for over 6 years now. I have had multiple procedures and spent tons of money on Periodontists before finding him. After struggling to keep my real teeth for years I finally realized I needed both upper and lower dentures. Dr. Porazik has the most gentle touch I've ever experienced. His Office is meticulous and the Staff are FANTASTIC! My new dentures fit beyond my expectations and the end results are far better than I had hoped. Now you know why I drive from Burbank Ca. to Lebec Ca. to have my loved ones cared for by Dr. Porazik. Thank you again

I was a little skeptical, but came out pleasantly surprised and very impressed! I had to see the dentist because of a horrible couple days of aching tooth and my other dentist had patched it up but it came back.due to my sugar intake I got this instead of diabetes whew very painful but their office very professional w x rays and a good dentist who gets to the "root" of the problem.he said what I knew but gave me a solution better than my other dentist.I highly recommend him and its a family affair.Extremely professional service in a timely manner.

We dropped in on Dr. Porazik's office due to a dental emergency while traveling to Northern California. The staff and doctor were incredibly friendly, professional and kind. They got us on our way in no time. They also saved us at least $2000.00 for two crowns that a previous dentist said needed to be removed, repaired and then a new one placed. We asked Dr. Porazik to X-ray the teeth and give her opinion. Dr. Porazik could find no reason why those crowns should come off and new ones made. Thank goodness we were fortunate enough to have that dental emergency! Thank you to the staff and of course

They are very nice be if you happen to need dentures go somewhere else, I have a mouth full dentures that could belong to anyone!
He said my top front 4 teeth had to come out, took one impression of my top teeth, my bottom and my bite so he pulled my teeth inserted the upper denture, and then went on a 4 day trip. They hurt and now that the swelling has gone down they don't fit at all. My jaw hurts, I can't eat the way I used too. I am Very disappointed. Now have to find someone that knows what they are doing.
I worked in a dental lab in the late '60s and this is the same type of denture we made
