Virgil T Golden, Funeral Services & Oakleaf Crematory

Golden’s helped us with my dads funeral this past week. We are so happy we chose them for his service. All the staff were extremely compassionate, patient, and accommodating. This is a family owned business rather than a corporation and I feel like we were treated like family. I highly recommend them.

We all know this is a hard time my Daughter who is 21 had to figure out how to pay for her fathers cremation.. As we all know it is never easy .. I called explained that she has no money .... what is the cheapest way we can do this ..945.00 we where not told about the super saver or being able to donate him and when they have learned all that they can they will cremate him and send her the ashes :-) this is free !! I asked how do people do this if they have NO money the gentleman's reply was it's the family's responsibility!! .. I found out donating him only after being treated

We lost our mother last week and used VT Golden Mortuary services. They were so wonderful that I just had to find a way to give them a public review and let others know they are excellent. They were kind and so courteous when they came to our home and picked up my mother's body. They have a wonderful demeanor for such a difficult event. The night our son passed away of SIDS was easily the worst night of our lives. While we were speaking to police, Salem Hospital contacted Virgil T Golden Funeral Services without our knowledge to arrange for them to pick up our son's body from the medical examiner. I checked with Virgil T Golden and saved more than 2.000 dollars. For everything. "Not Plot" I already owned that. Very kind and compassionate employees.

When faced with loosing a loved one, it's a hard chore picking a funeral service. We visited 3 of them months prior to the death, and Virgil T was by far the best in terms of environment and price paid. And in the end, we were SOOOOO happy to have chosen Virgil. The viewing and graveside service went off without a hitch, and Tom Golden oversaw everything professionally and personally.
