Definitely not the worst place to learn karate, and for what you pay for, it’s actually a good place to learn karate on a budget.
My problem with the Red Tigers is that they focus way too much on tournament-style karate. Most of the techniques you learn are not practical for self-defense. I mean come on, when am I ever going to use a spinning kick or skip kick in self defense? The focus on tournament style fighting might not be best for those that want to focus on self defense or just practicing karate as martial art.
Not only that, I didn’t like that I was being pushed along to my black

I spent 17 years in this program from the time I was a child at the age of 6, until I was 23. I recieved two Black Belts during that time. I couldnt recommend a better program. They are the best group of people I have ever met and foster an amazing and loving atmosphere for every student.

My granddaughter now attends classes in Denton at NLRC. She is ADHD/LD Dyslexic which means her ability to remember and process sounds and words is limited and she reverses left / right direction etc. After we were told karate might help, we tried a different karate program first -but that instructor expected her to be able to function normally when he barked out a long string of commands. She could not process it, so she was punished with push-ups. We quit that one after 1 month and switched to Red Tiger . It has been WONDERFUL so far ! The instructors actually show her what to do rather than just

My 12 year old son has been attending Red Tiger Karate for six years. The program is
fairly simple and the instructors were very easy on the kids as far as knowing the moves and the terms. My seven year old who has high functioning autism and ADHD has been very eager to start karate. Before enrolling my younger son I approached the director and two different instructors and asked them their opinion and views on children with autism
participating in Red Tiger Karate.
I also informed them that my son had autism and ADHD. These instructors knew my both my boys very well due to our many years in
