Shawna became a Veterinary Technician because she wanted to make a difference. Helping to save sick or injured animals, and being their voice when they're in pain or don't feel well is something that drives Shawna to work hard each and every day!
Upon graduating from PIMA Medical Institute as Valedictorian of her class, Shawna spent several years working at an emergency hospital in San Diego before joining the Cedar Veterinary Clinic team in April of 2020.Clinically, she enjoys administering anesthesia and ensuring that patients always remain safe and comfortable while sedated.

Updating my review as its been a few years and staff and Doc have changed. Possibly all new management, I think this has all been in the last 2 or 3 years, and its definitely for the better! Theyve done a lot of renovations inside, the rooms and front office area are really nice now. There's new staff and theyve all been amazing and friendly and always helpful and caring. You can tell they all love your pets and care for them as best they can. Dr Heather is very kind and caring and great at explaining everything. My kitty was getting old and they were always giving her fantastic care even

My wife and I got a rescue dog a few years ago, and w didn't know she had Epilepsy. She passed away a few days ago due to these seizures. Looking back on her life and all the vet visits we had, I could not have asked for a better Vet than Dr. Johnson. SAVED our English bulldog’s life.
In the middle of our summer road trip our dear bulldog started struggling to breath.
After being turned away from the closest Vet to us, Cedar Vet Clinic agreed to see us immediately.
The staff at Cedar Vet Clinic gave emergency care and helped stabilize our bulldog. They even sent all the medical records to our hometown Vet.
The Vet and Staff here truly care about the animals under their care.

Dr.Johnson and the rest of the staff are absolutely 100% amazing!!! They were so amazing with my dog that absolutely does not like going to the vets by the time they were done he was literally eating out of their hands!! And when it came time to help my other dog end her pain permanently they were very gracious and very patient and so kind. I would highly recommend this veterinarian clinic to everyone!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic! I brought my cat in, for the first time, after having a horrible experience at the groomers. They were amazing! The staff calmed all my fears, informed me that he was NOT infested with flees, as the groomer stated and finished grooming him so he looked decent. In a world where there tends to be little customer service this clinic has it down. After only 4 days of leaving I've referred two people! That's how strongly I recommend them!!

We recently moved to Utah with an old dog. Sadly, she was beginning to suffer, and we had to put her to sleep.
The people at Cedar Veterinary Clinic were just the best. They were sympathetic and kind. In the room where this was done, the veterinarian shed a tear while administering the drug. I was really touched. Clearly, I wasn't going to be a long-term client, but it didn't matter. She just understood what I was going through.
A few days later, we got a sympathy card from them. It made us feel so good.
They did us right, and I highly recommend them.

This Veterinary clinic was fantastic. Dr Johnson and staff were wonderful. We were just traveling through on our way back home and our Aussie got a urine infection. They scheduled us in and we got treatment for her right away. Dr Johnson was very thorough and explained the test and treatment very nicely and easy to comprehend. Prices were very reasonable for exam, test and medications. Highly recommend them. Thank you!

Heather is absolutely fantastic! My lab (Hope) was very sick with a uterine infection which was killing her this past winter. Hope's 8 years old (considered too old by some to risk operating on). However, Heather immediately recommended operating to save Hope's life. There was NO hesitation and she took care of Hope that very day! Heather and staff stayed late that evening to look after Hope's needs. Knowing how worried I was about my girl, Heather contacted me to let me know how Hope was doing. My pup has since recovered and is like a new dog - rejuvenated, happy and healthy! I can't say enough

Cedar Vet isn't the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Dr. Thinnes has been fantastic with all three of my animals be it just bringing them in for vaccines or for an actual medical issue.
He's always exceptionally thorough, his staff is knowledgeable and helpful and each time I leave, I feel well informed about whatever issue I brought an animal in for and know that my pet has received great care and there won't need to have a follow up visit for the same issues unless I've been informed that it might be needed as can sometimes be the case with my diabetic dog.

I got my puppy Bug-Z last October at 8 weeks old and there is no vet in my small Nevada town, but it seemed like everyone in town with a pet went to Cedar Veterinary Clinic, over 100 miles away in Cedar City, Utah. The few I asked basically insisted I take Bug there, which I did. I couldn't have been happier. The moment I walked through the door I felt good and so did the Bug. These guys are incredible. We got a new puppy last December and these guys were awesome. Flexible appointment scheduling for immunizations, and spaying her was so easy, and extremely well priced. Ana at the front desk always answers my questions and is very pleasant. I couldn't imagine a better place in cedar to bring our furry family members.

Just moved into cedar city with my wife and we adopted a dog. My wife suggested to take our dog to this clinic and I couldn't have been happier with the service and care! I've always had dogs throughout my life and have seen many different clinics in Utah and some in the east coast; the Cedar Vet clinic is the best I've been to by far!
