We see ourselves as educators and want to empower our clients to take control of their taxes by giving them the tax information they need. Steve and Kevin started working together in 2014 when they were both at a Central Texas oil and gas company; Kevin was the Controller and Steve was the Chief Financial Officer. Seeing a gap in accounting services for small- to medium-size businesses, they set out in 2016 to create a company that could support growing businesses and the individuals that run them.
Scott & Aderholt specializes in small and growing businesses. Education is a key part of every service we provide our clients. We provide support for business formation, S-Corp elections, tax planning, and Texas Franchise Reports, as well as general business tax returns and extensions. We have optimized our tax return processes to allow our tax return preparation time (after receiving everything needed) to average 7 days or less.

Email [email protected] with "Engagement Letter Request" in the title of the email and in the body of the email list out: first name/last name and your email (two different sets of names and emails if you are married) and what type of return(s) we are preparing for you. We will then email you (and your spouse) a secure e-signable engagement letter in pdf format.

Scott&Aderholt did our business taxes for the year 2018. When we ask for help in 2020 to file 2019 taxes, this is the reply we received from Logan: “Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, Kevin and I are unable to prepare your 2019 tax return for ***** and you will need to engage with another tax preparer.” How incredibly unprofessional is this? We were left alone to hire another tax preparer who would now have to understand what happened with our business in 2018 to be able to do the 2019 taxes properly. This is called client ABANDONMENT and speaks of how little they care about their customers

I first met Kevin Aderholt through my payroll company's contacts. We had a business lunch to discuss my company's future and financial goals. Only a few businessmen are this trustworthy. In my case, I was told that I did not have to setup a company in order to receive maximum tax benefits. Which means I do not have to pay someone to do my taxes. I was given free advice! During the free consultation. They have a beautiful office with easy parking. Kevin was excellent to talk to. True to what their website says he enjoys working with people.

Kevin did a wonderful job of informing my husband and i of what to bring to the appointment and walked us through the entire process of completing our taxes as well as letting us know what tax breaks we qualified for. I hired Scott & Aderholt to do my taxes for my LLC. As a new business, and a first time LLC owner, I couldn't risk making any mistakes on my taxes by doing it myself. Kevin Aderholt was extremely thorough and not only did the filing for me, but also educated me on what I needed to do moving forward to remain in good standing with the IRS, as well as save the most money on taxes long term.
