Jean M. Bouffard primarily serves the Greater Puget Sound area, but is licensed to practice law throughout the state of Washington. The majority of her clients include new business start-ups, small and medium size businesses, medical professionals, construction companies, real estate investors and individuals in their real estate and personal business affairs.
When property owners (commercial or residential) have construction work done on their property, they should be aware that contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers can put liens on their property for lack of payment, even if the general contractor has been paid in full. That means, before a property owner pays the general contractor, the property owner needs to verify that the subcontractors and suppliers received timely payment.
We had to sue a contractor for breach of contract due to shoddy workmanship in a remodel project at our home. The case was a mess of facts and figures but Jean was able to sort it out and win a judgment for us, including attorney fees. We are very happy with her professionalism, knowledge and demeanor.
