Services
Columbia River Institute of Massage Therapy is designed around and dedicated to the continual advancement of the massage therapy profession through the superior training of future massage therapists. Our education is evidence-based with interwoven artistic elements representing what we believe is the leading model of massage therapy.
Classes meet Monday and Wednesday (March start) or Tuesday and Thursday (September start). In the second half of the program, a third day is added for clinical hours. That day is either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday depending on which program the student is enrolled in. In addition to school hours, each student is required to complete 100 hours of massage in our Massage Therapy Center.
We do not accept any federal financial aid such as FAFSA. We are contracted with several state agencies which may fund your education depending on qualifications. Some of these agencies include Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, WorkSource, SkillSource, and Labor and Industries. We do not contact them on your behalf and we cannot provide advice regarding your qualifications at these agencies.
We frequently use electronic tablets in the clinic, which are provided by CRI. A basic working knowledge of tablet usage is required. It is not within the time constraints of this program to individually tutor students on the usage of electronics. Students are required to access the internet for research and must be comfortable with this or willing to learn on their own time.
All massages are offered by students. Clients are required to participate in the learning process through constructive feedback and willingness to understand the different levels of proficiency throughout the program. If you are interested in receiving massage at our school, please read through all the policies before booking an appointment.

Horrible neighbors, refuse to help pay for the maintenance of the parking lot adjacent but constantly park there anyways in purposely obnoxious ways. Really shamefull way for adults to act.

I come here for massages, not for school. I can tell that they give a quality education based upon the work they perform. I'm very impressed! I've had a ton of massages over the past 15 years and know the difference. I've also had bad massages and have been injured from LMTs, but I trust the quality of the students here. And I also happen to be a Licensed Massage Therapist, so I have inside knowledge of what the expectations and standards are.
The owner of the school opens the door for you when you come for your appointment, possibly as a precaution with the current pandemic. Which gives me the

The Owner of this school was a nightmare! I've never had such a terrible experience. She obviously knows she's the only school in this town. She's on a major power trip. My mind is blown how someone in this field could be as awful as she is.
Most massage therapists are very kind people. She is not that at all... I ended up taking my $100 application fee back and just forgetting it.

I enjoyed my time and education at Columbia River Institute. I graduated with far more confidence and knowledge than I could ever have imagined possible in 9 months time. Loved it!!
