In 1938, my Grandfather, LeRoy Rader, along with O. Thomas Welch, formed a partnership and began a new funeral home in Kilgore, Texas. A few years later, my grandfather became the sole owner of Rader Funeral Home. Since that time, Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore has been owned and operated by the Rader family, starting with my grandparents, parents, and now, my family.

Sometimes the thought of planning a funeral seems too difficult for those who've suffered a loss. We're here to help lighten your burden and remind you of the true value a ceremony can hold for you and your family. Coping with a loss is never easy, and services are an essential part of the recovery process.
A casket is commonly considered the final resting bed of a loved one. However, caskets alone are not designed to support the weight of the surrounding soil. Burial vaults are permanent outer enclosures designed to support the weight of the soil and cemetery equipment. A burial vault should offer you peace of mind by protecting the casket against water and weight damage.
There's a lot that goes into planning a funeral, but making those arrangements beforehand gives you time to consider all of your options and make sure that you're covering all of the necessary details. The following checklist will help you to make sure you've thought of everything when you begin creating your personalized plan.
Please list any poems, religious texts, or readings you would like to be read at your services. Please list any specific foods or beverages you would like to make available to your family and guests at the services. Is there a special story, personal thank you, or message of hope you would like to be read during your services?

My beloved mother passed away in another state. And getting her body to Kilgore for burial was very challenging because of the pandemic and our timeline. But because of the exceptional and compassionate work of Stephen Wright, we were able to eulogize my mother in Colorado and then have a graveside service for her in Kilgore - all happening within three days. Thank you Mr. Wright and Rader Funeral Home!

We had our 2nd funeral in a year, the professionalism of Stephen Wright again to help my sister and I through another difficult time. He again walked us through every step and taking care of details we didn't remember. He has a way of making you feel at ease at the most heart wrenching times . The entire staff is always courteous and professional. Thank you again Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore

Nobody likes to deal with death of a loved one, but it sure helps the process to have kind, compassionate, caring, and responsible professionals to handle the details. Thank you, friends at Rader, for attending to all the details involved in my dad’s move to heaven, taking care of the empty “shell” he left behind in a way that made a difficult time more manageable.

The Rader Funeral Home team comforted our family from the beginning. The team thought of every possible detail, which made the process easy for us so we could concentrate on our family and celebrating the life of our loved one. The depth of care provided by Rader was like a warm blanket on a cool evening. Sincerity and compassion is what comes to mind as we went through the preparation for a perfectly planned service with the help of J Mitchell and the folks at Rader Funeral Home.

I wanted to let everyone know that the staff here are the most wonderful and compassionate people. I personally dealt with Mr. Chris Norris and he was very very good with my family and myself. We were unable to afford the price of my requests and Mr. Norris never tried to talk me into changing my mind and I really deeply appreciated that. I was able to pay the small fee because they are the ones that went and picked my mother up from her and they took very good care of her. Mr. Norris also allowed me too have a personal viewing of my mother and he gave us locks of her hair at no extra charge. He
