Having moved to Kansas City to attend the Kansas City Art Institute over 20 years ago, I met my husband Mel & spent 10 years as a product designer & manager for Hallmark Cards. Upon celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary with a Vegas Vow Renewal in 2012, I recognized the need for simple, affordable but stylish wedding solutions in KC.
Since opening The Vow Exchange in 2013, my team & I have celebrated with over 1500 couples in our 2 venues! I have since produced a web series (15 Minute Wedding) a podcast (I Do Rescue) and a comic book (Luna) with my husband. As an audiophile, owner of Cakewalk Events & a 25 year veteran in catering and event planning for a high-end caterer in Kansas City, I joined The Vow Exchange team in 2014.

We had an absolutely perfect ceremony at the Vow Exchange! They made everything so easy and carefree for us. We were coordinating an elopement ceremony from almost 200 miles away and convenience was really important to us. We were blown away with the service, care, attention to detail and true kindness from everyone! Communication ahead of the day was awesome - super clear and detailed. I couldn't have asked for a better venue to share my special day marrying the man of my dreams! The staff at The Vow Exchange was phenomenal from the very first day I contacted them about checking out the venue. The day of coordinators made everything run smoothly and it was such a stress free day. We picked the Bites and Beverages package and were not disappointed! We had so much food for our ~60 guests and plenty of beverages as well! The venue is the perfect backdrop for photos before, during, and after! I can't thank the staff enough for helping to make 2/15/20 the best day of my life!

The Vow Exchange was great to work with. They made our wedding day easy and stress free. We got married at The Chapel on the Corner in Liberty, and Angela was so kind and laid back, I couldn’t thank her enough for her help! The decorations were so simple yet beautiful. It made for wonderful photos. Would absolutely recommend for a simple, small ceremony for a great price.

I booked this venue in May for my September wedding. I went to view the venue in June and I met with Kristin, I had a witness with me. I specifically asked her about my wedding cake and finger food. My question was can I bring in a small cake and finger sandwiches. Her response was "I like to tell people that you are renting the space and you can do whatever you want during the time of your rental, as long as it fits on the black table". I asked if I could bring my cake, she told me to bring it. I had spoken to Kristin a couple of times since my venue visit and she never told me anything different

Everything went exactly as promised. Communication was efficient and timely, with confirmation by text and email. Sergio did a nice job with names and the event manager handled time and direction well.
Note the directions given for parking as they are helpful. Entrance is around back, and not on McGee.

Absolutely PERFECT place to get married. We did the "mini" ceremony and I salute the staff for offering that type of ceremony. They were organized, friendly, and attentive. The officiant, host and photographer did an amazing job and made our day one we will never, ever forget. Look no further for your wedding venue...this is the one

Our service was a couple of weeks ago on Saturday, November 5th. The location sits in an alley, which confused a few in our party. Advise your guests to arrive a few minutes early to locate and work out parking.
The venue is very nicely decorated and the staff were very welcoming. They brought us in immediately so we could get dressed. There is a bridal area for the bride to dress, but only the restroom for the men.

Our wedding was held at The Vow Exchange about two weeks ago, and I cannot say enough about the experience. We wanted a small, intimate wedding with as little stress and complications as possible. The Vow Exchange delivered that and then some. We visited the space once, and after that, everything was handled via email; we spent more time addressing invitations than we did worrying about the ceremony. Just had our wedding here this weekend and couldn't have been happier. The place was absolutely beautiful and the staff was amazing. There was no rehearsal but our wedding coordinator communicated my wishes so well that everything went off without a hitch! I highly recommend The Vow Exchange for any bride that wants a small, affordable, AND beautiful wedding put together with minimal stress and customization where it matters the most.

Our ceremony was yesterday and today I'm just so overcome with joy that I had to write my review. I loved the small ceremony we were able to pull off at this BEAUTIFUL venue. The staff is amazing and actually did a great job of helping me feel calm right before my ceremony. I wish I could give them a 25.star rating. It was just absolutely amazing.
We have a go-to photographer of our own, but really wanted a secular ceremony without all of the fuss. I didn't have to worry about a thing. Tell your guests where to go, when to show up, and they do the rest! You just get to show up and look

Wedding venues are intensely personal and have to fit the couples' needs, so any venue isn't for every one - that's true. The Vow Exchange though, is an awesome idea and probably perfect for a lot of different situations.
We're not looking for a cavernous venue and the fact that The Vow Exchange holds no more than 28 guests (wedding party not included) is actually helpful. We're not feeling obligated to invite everyone we've ever met and actually have a reason why we can't.
