We are a small, but mighty, private counseling practice with locations in the Western suburbs and on the Southside of Chicago. We are comprised of 5 providers who have worked together intermittently throughout their careers, from their training years, to their journey as seasoned specialists. We now come together to form a dynamic group, providing highly specialized psychological care and share a dedication to reaching out to patients in the community through consultation and education.
Services
We also have a specialty in working with the college population, as 2 of our providers have extensive experience in University Counseling. The staff of HPC hold close relationships with local bariatric programs and surgeons. We regularly present at local hospital support groups and provide consultation and education regarding the importance of psychological support in bariatrics.
Dr. Z attended Roosevelt University, Chicago, where she received her Masters and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology. She has trained in community mental health, university counseling, and a forensic setting. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Counseling Center, and completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Student Health and Wellness Center.
HPC offers bariatric support groups at no fee to patients. We have been presenting at support groups for many years now. We believe in community outreach and bringing our support and expertise to patients in any way we can. So You've Had Surgery? Now what?! Why Do We Overeat? We usually schedule these groups with hospital program coordinators, however, if you are a part of our mailing list, we also release support group invites for folks to join.
If you are considering bariatric surgery, have had bariatric surgery, or are trying to figure out what feels right for you, psychological support and exploration is a vital part for ultimate success and maintenance of success. If we plant a garden but do not tend to it, what chance have we given the garden to grow?
We also accept clients who have other forms of insurance and clients paying out of pocket. We will provide you with a form to send to your insurance company for reimbursement and you will be responsible for initial payment for services. You will be asked questions to varify your identity (such as: social security number member, ID#, date of birth, cardholder's address).
