You will NEVER find anyone as amazing and creative as Mateo! It took me 36 years to be happy w my curly hair without having to constantly be doing something to it (flat ironing, blow drying, applying endless products) I can't explain how many times I have gone to stylist and left wanting to cry. Weeks after Mateo cut and colored my hair I was still txting him how happy I was with it.
After booking your service, you will receive a confirmation email with all of the info you'll need for your appointment. If you need to make any adjustments or cancellations, you can do so through that email. We have a no refund policy on services completed at our salon. We offer complimentary adjustments within 7 days of the service completion pending management approval.

I am cleaning up my review and laying out the whole story as clearly as I can because Virgo salon IS A SCAM!!!
1) Be aware, most if not all the pictures Virgo posts on Yelp and Insta are NOT their work! "Mateo" takes photos from clients' pages and passes them off to SEEM like he/Virgo did the styling... when in fact the clients are just making regular posts and styled their own hair!! (He changes his name from Spanish to English and uses different initials depending on the day because HE IS A SCAMMER!)

Let me start by saying I have never been to a salon that specializes in curls. I am so happy I decided to put my trust into this place. I had an amazing and honest consultation with Ashanti and I booked my appointment to get my pintura highlights two days later. Not only was she friendly but she gave me her honest opinion on the colors that would work for me and gave me options. She made sure I understood the care and upkeep of each option. I had been feeling down about my look and my hair and now I feel so happy with my hair again. I can't stop smiling. She painted the hell out of my hair

A spiritual journey of hair alchemy and nurturing relaxation. I had my hair cut by Alanna who is an experienced, easy-going, beautiful grounding soul that made me feel at home. Mateo washed and textured my hair to prep it for air dry. I have to tell you I have never experienced someone touching, washing and intuitively knowing what my hair needed like Mateo did. It was really beautiful to experience The Virgo hair salon. I I feel like I found the perfect salon for me. I highly recommend this gem, as it is a rare and luminous one.

Made an appointment online as requested. Called and left a message on the day I created the appointment, as well as on the day before the appointment, asking for someone to confirm or get in touch with me. The business says that they will get back to you within 3 days but it's been two weeks and no response.

Mateo and his team are amazing!! I honestly spent years looking for a stylist who knew how to care for my curly hair. Before coming to Virgo Salon, I had so many unfortunate experiences with stylists. I honestly had given up. Prior to seeing Mateo, I had grown my hair out for over 3 years for the first time ever and as a guy, I must say I was extremely protective over my hair because as any curly haired person knows, it takes centuries to grow out your hair. Anyway, sorry to digress but I was so guarded in having anyone care for my curls but that all ended when I met with Mateo. I showed him pictures

After years and years of dreaming of curls I finally found Virgo Salon and am so glad I did. The staff is so nice and attentive. Mateo and the whole Virgo team walked me through the whole process of achieving a natural, beach-wave-type of perm. I did have to make multiple trips/appointments- for a consult and then to do a pre-perm treatment, but I appreciated their honesty and care to make sure my hair was healthy throughout the whole perming process. The perm itself was pretty quick and you get to relax in the outdoor garden while it's processing. Also, the whole space is gorgeous ... decor

Not a great spot for black hair and you leave the salon with a wet head which was a first for me. After washing my hair they dried it with a regular towel and then went in with a comb. I think the cut might be okay but I won't know until I wash it on my own. The salon had a cute vibe though! Appropriate-y but on brand for LA salons.

I have 3A/3B curly hair. I was really excited to find Virgo as it can be SO hard to find a salon that caters to curly hair. I've been to the salon a few times and had great experiences with an RX conditioning treatment and also a light trim. Unfortunately my coloring appointments were a miss. While the staff is friendly and seem experienced, I could not get a resulting color similar to the ideal photos I had shown them either time.
The first time I went in for color I asked for a cinnamon/reddish brown shade and showed pictures. My hair color came out a sort of bright red with dark roots.

I received a GinaCurl from Virgo Salon by the GinaCurl stylist, Mateo. My hair is a disaster and I am waiting for the bad perm and bad haircut to grow out. I got my GinaCurl back in March along with my daughter, and both of our heads look horrible. I am wearing hats and decorative wraps until my hair grows out. My daughters hair is slightly curly but straight in some areas and doesn't curl. I can blame it on the products because we are using the products that Gina recommends off of her website. My first GinaCurl done by Gina was perfection. This service is too costly to have your head jacked up

I have very curly hair. I was looking for a softer curl, not as tight, more manageable. Mateo consulted with me about a "healthy perm" using larger rods to achieve the desired result without damage. I was nervous, if you have curly hair, you understand. I sent references of the type of curl I like, and I was told that Mateo could achieve that look.

I was in heaven from the moment I stepped into the salon. Mateo and staff were attentive, receptive, compassionate, and really considered my needs. The salon is BEAUTIFUL, spiritual, and calming. My appointment for a dry cut has already been scheduled. It's not often you find a holistic, natural, organic environment that can handle my hair. 14/10 would recommend.

Virgo is the best place for my hair! I got the balayage and was terrified of getting color but my curls are healthy and has NO damage. I really enjoyed my experience here Ashanti made me feel very comfortable and was educated in my curl texture. She let me know what every product was and why she was using it in hair which was a plus for me. I am very cautious about my hair but I truly trust this place and would definitely come back again!

Mateo was great! I donated my hair and went for a very low maintenance, short hair cut to accentuate my natural curl pattern and accommodate to the endless summer Los Angeles is experiencing. The space was clean, well-lit, relaxing. The staff was very professional and kind. The location is convenient and small-business friendly. Looking forward to the next time! Went to Virgo Salon over 3 weeks ago. I was ready to change the texture of my hair from flat to bouncy and curly. Mateo used his artistic skills and deep knowledge of hair and transformed my hair!!! My hair looks better after the healthy perm. It looks natural, lush and beautiful!!! I will definitely be returning.
