We know what it is like to suffer. To find dead end after dead end when it comes to health. From sports injuries resulting in surgeries to severe chronic illness to congenital birth defects in a child to a child with special needs. We started Genesis Performance Chiropractic to help those in need the way we were in need.
Through the ups and downs of these experiences, we've learned a lot along the way. We are passionate about sharing what we've learned and helping those who have not been able to find help. We know that the easy route isn't always enough.

Susan has been part of the GPC team since 2018. She's often the face and voice of the company as she is likely the one you'll see first when you walk into the office and the one you'll hear on the other end of the phone when you call. Whether it's getting labs together, ordering inventory, or being the first point of contact, she handles all the behind-the-scenes work for the functional medicine part of the practice.
Our son, Luke, was born with a random congenital heart defect called aortic stenosis. He had open heart surgery when he was seven days old, which gave him a chance to live. The following three months post-op were spent in the Children's Hospital at University of Iowa.
It was filled with numerous complications including a stroke, kidney failure, sepsis, an episode where he stopped breathing, gall bladder removal, and numerous additional heart catheterization procedures.Luke is only alive today by the grace of God. He wasn't given much of a chance to live from the start, but thankfully he made it through.

We are amazingly complex creations and very often this complexity plays into why people begin to feel pain or fatigued or any other number of symptoms. When treating any patient at GPC, we look to identify which sources may be involved in these symptoms being expressed. This includes examining not just from a skeletal perspective, but also neurological, muscular, metabolic, nutritional and movement perspectives.
Each patient at GPC receives not only chiropractic care with each visit, but also a combination of soft tissue work (ART), functional neurology (P-DTR), and corrective exercises. Each visit is a unique treatment according to how the patient presents on that day. This means that the visit includes individualized care and not a cookie cutter in-and-out treatment.
P-DTR(R) is a product of the original thought and investigations of orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jose Palomar. This work recognizes that proprioception (sensation of touch, pressure, hot, cold, pain, etc.), and the way the body processes the information from these receptors, is paramount in determining neuromuscular responses throughout the entire body.

I am the fourth family member to seek treatment w Dr. Ryan
All of us had suffered an injury or accident at one time or another. My experience, is the beginning of a process in understanding integrated chiropractic care and address some deficiencies in neurological functions. I, as well as family members are grateful to work on these issues. I believe, and have felt the subtle changes for the better. I am hopeful that my treatment will provide deep and lasting results. Dr Ryan is patient, a great listener, and current in providing his patients w the best care possible.
We are blessed! I look forward

Dr. Ryan is fantastic! So happy to have a naturopathic, health-focused and encouraging chiropractor in our corner. My husband and I are both avid CrossFitters and Ryan is always able to fix whatever issues arise - whether it be neurological, spinal or muscular. I went to appointments with him during my entire pregnancy and now he even makes sure our 2 month old son is in proper alignment. Highly recommend!

I have been to many chiropractors over the years, and most have been very helpful. But I have been extremely pleased with Genesis Chiropractic and Dr. Ryan. He is an expert in his ability to treat patients with their SPECIFIC issues, and he takes the time to really listen to what the issues are. He also engages with his patients so they feel welcomed and comfortable. The staff are friendly and professional as well. I sincerely recommend his practice.

Dr. Ryan is a rare combination of wisdom and skill, humility and compassion. He cares about his patients' physical well being and easily relates to the struggles of being embodied. He listens well and, with skill, combines wisdom and experience to respond intuitively and effectively. I, and my very active family, have been helped time and again by his care.

Ryan at Genesis Performance Chiropractic really helped me when I hurt my hip in March 2019. At the time, I was also going to physical therapy and doing home PT, but I think Ryan's chiropractic procedures really helped me to get better. A year later, I am still going to Genesis for "maintenance," and probably will always continue to go there. I always feel better when I leave there, and everyone in the office is very nice and supportive. Linda W

I don't usually get particularly 'excited' when it comes to appointments, but I do love going to the Genesis Chiropractic. The community there is so so great and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The work Doctor Ryan and others do there is done well, and they've really helped me in the past when I needed chiropractic care. Doctor Abby is also a miracle worker when it comes to wellness and health along with nutrition and really just making you feel good mentally and physically. I would 100% recommend going to Genesis Performance if you want to feel your best

Dr. Ryan and his staff are great. Every visit is friendly and personal. Dr. Ryan seeks to find the root of the problem and treat it. His goal is to get you better so that you don’t have to keep coming back over and over for the same issue. He is also great at explaining what your body is doing or not doing in such a way that you understand and makes you feel comfortable.
