One of the best places to go for some healthy and original tacos. Everybody was fun to talk to and gave off great energy. 10/10 experience

Delicious fresh food at a reasonable price, attentive staff, great atmosphere. The Cincy themed mural in the back of the restaurant is beautiful and done by UC student artists. Love the company’s meal donation initiative. Conveniently located near campus, on Short Vine across the street from Kroger. So Zam good!

First time visiting and not knowing what to expect. I noticed everything looked clean and orderly. As others have said, it's set up like Moe's where you go through the line and tell them what you'd like and they prepare it in front of you.

The lady who waited on me was very kind and prepared my quesadilla as I requested using the barbacoa beef. The man who rang up my order was very friendly and nice. I went and got my drink and then found a table.

The meat was absolutely delicious and very flavorful! Plus it was a huge meal. There's several meats to choose from that are

The employees were very attentive and made sure I knew what the options were. I ended up getting the Beef Nachos with corn, cheese, lettuce, pinto beans, pico de gallo, and they were AMAZING!!!!! The beef has a mild sweet taste; it's different, and I like different.

Visited Zambrero before walking around to view the amazing murals. I ordered a burrito bowl and was impressed with the freshness and quality of all ingredients. I had the black rice which provided a tasty base, three bean mix, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and pico. I added a garlic mayo sauce at the end. Looking forward to trying some of the other sauces. The serving was just right for me- not as large as some of the other fast food chains, but more than enough without feeling too stuffed.

We had noticed this place but finally went for lunch after winning a coupon for a free bowl from the O2 Fitness that's in the same parking lot.

The good:
* Super friendly staff! The guy helping us was just great and answered all of our questions.
* Clean restaurant
* Pickled jalapeños and onion salsa on the toppings bar were a nice touch and a bit different from other places
* Selection of sauces
* They donate to Rise Against Hunger which is cool

The bad:
* Only three meat choices... and they're all shredded. We tried both chicken and pork and they were super similar in texture and

I recently visited after I've seen it a couple of times. It was nice and clean however to me it was not good and the portions were small and thats what the 3 stars are for. The food was very bland to me. I may try it 1 more time but I'll prob stick to my usual. I'm glad that Durham has more options and I wish them the best.

This restaurant is new in Durham, having opened up a couple of months ago during the pits of the coronavirus crisis (& before the nearby O2 Fitness Club opened). I went to try the new gym, so I figured I'd give Zambrero a try.

Zambrero has a nice atmosphere and the staff were helpful. They donate a meal, I think, for each meal you order, so there is a count on the wall in the dining area of all of the donated meals, a nice touch. I had the vegan bowl (sort of, I let them add some shredded cheese, otherwise vegan): rice, beans, and veggies. It is was delicious. Price is not low

It's like Chipotle with less choices, but supposedly higher quality ingredients?

I went here during their first opening weeks. Service was good, the staff was prompt and friendly. Mask enforcement was a little iffy, but that still varies from store to store. What my understanding of Zambrero is that they are, as said earlier, a more higher quality ingredient version of your typical Chipotle like burrito bowl place. And they are but the most obvious difference is they lack a lot of the options that Chiplote has in favor of more unique options. For instance as a base you can get your

I give this place props for opening during a pandemic and for donating a meal for every meal of bottle of water ordered. They are part of an Australian chain and only one of a handful of locations open in the U.S. We visited on the opening weekend and ordered a veggie burrito and chicken burrito, both customized on the line. One of the managers showed us the outdoor patio around the corner so we enjoyed eating outside. Minor setbacks were that we were told burritos were $5 during the opening weekend and the clerk rang up both of ours at the regular price (we didn't notice this until later
