Services
The Environmental Insurance Agency, Inc. (EIA) was established in 1997 by Susan Neuman as the first boutique brokerage to provide tailored environmental insurance coverage for contaminated property transactions. Over the years, EIA's environmental insurance brokerage skills and expertise have meant the difference between the success or failure of numerous brownfields transactions.
Do you have an environmental problem but are afraid to look at it too closely? Our legal and risk management experts will review and analyze your risk based on the available relevant documents (and maybe a site visit). Based on that review, we will recommend a strategy for managing your exposure which may include risk control (remediation plans), and risk transfer options including contractual risk transfer and insurance.
EIA can provide site pollution liability coverage, pre-underwritten and tailored to fit specific risks by EIA's environmental insurance and legal experts. Such coverage can be essential to the success of real estate transactions involving contaminated property. EIA can provide contractor's pollution liability (CPL) coverage for large and small environmental and non-environmental contractors at the lowest prices and with the broadest coverage.
Brownfields are abandoned, idled or underused industrial and commercial properties at which real or perceived contamination interferes with real estate transactions and redevelopment or reuse efforts. They are also referred to as lightly contaminated sites. They are not Superfund sites, but fear of strict, joint and several, and retroactive Superfund liability often prevents them from being sold.
