Lee Anderson is the Executive chef and owner of Sugar Beach Events on Maui, Hawaii, an internationally recognized ocean front catering venue. She arrived on the island of Maui in 2004 joining the management team of the prestigious Wolfgang Puck restaurant, Spago at the Four Seasons Resort. Working with award winning chefs de cuisine, Adam Condon and Cameron Lewark proved inspirational and pushed her to her dream.

Our team of specialists can provide this on both our private beach front venue or off-site at any location on the island. Heading into our wedding we were a little nervous about how we would plan our cake. Being a gluten free bride, and a gluten loving groom we weren’t sure if we would be able to find a compromise or solution on Maui. Our wedding planner suggested Sugar Beach Events and we’re glad she did. They were able to create an entirely gluten free cake that tasted delicious! We chose a yellow cake with chocolate macadamia nut mousse and buttercream frosting. While on our honeymoon we both decided we should have cut a bigger slice for the cake cutting! The cake was amazing, and we didn’t have an insane

My family was looking forward to attending a luau. However this luau was extremely disappointing. The food was worse than a school cafeteria and cold. We were seated so far back we could hardly see the show. This was the first time my kids have been to a luau, I had been to a few over the years and had great memories. The high price we paid was definitely not worth it.

Beautiful ocean-front venue within steps of the water. The swaying palm trees and gentle ocean waves provided the most dreamy, exotic vibes to our destination wedding in Maui. The wedding coordinators Kristen and Ashley were very communicative and responsive via email conversations and made our wedding planning a breeze. Sugar Beach Events is an excellent alternative to the large hotel resorts, providing an intimate setting that showcases Hawaii's natural beauty- grassy lawns, lush tropical foliage, pristine sandy beaches, and of course, the famous Maui sunsets.

Absolutely perfect wedding from top to bottom. SO many people kept asking if I was nervous or anxious throughout the wedding planning process and every time, my honest answer was "not at all." Kristen and Gabrielle were extremely responsive and followed up with us every step of the way to make sure we were on track with our side of the planning. The day-of coordination was on point. Kristen gave us honest and prompt feedback on all the vendors when we were going through all our options, and she was transparent about the pricing and offerings so we never had any doubts or fuzziness about the process

I have to admit that Sugar Beach was not our original venue. 4 days before our wedding day we found out the entire ceremony and reception had to be moved. We had already chosen Chef Lee to cater. Her food is simply the best. But also having a wedding venue made the change seamless and now I couldn't imagine having it anywhere else because it went perfectly. I mean there isn't anything I would change about it. The guests thought it was gorgeous and it is. The staff were like ninjas and your needs were always met.
