Our staff is able to detect and correct OBD issues in advance of CARB's testing to avoid potential delays in production. A fairly new department at CARB, has been created to perform confirmatory and compliance testing on manufacturer vehicles. They test all aspects of OBD to ensure that the vehicle is compliant.
We have the knowledge and capability to perform all of our customers OBD calibration needs. Proper vehicle calibration requires a good understanding of how the engine controller works and how the diagnostics are designed. WinterPark has calibrated many OBD systems on various powertrain control systems for both gasoline and diesel vehicles.
As part of the CARB certification procedure, manufacturers are required to demonstrate that certain monitors are able to detect a failure prior to tailpipe emissions exceeding a predefined threshold. WinterPark Engineering recommends our clients perform a pre-DDV test to ensure all systems are working as intended prior to the "official" DDV test.
We have the knowledge and capability to service all of our customers' OBD testing needs, including PVE1, PVE2, and PVE3. PVE testing is required to confirm production vehicles meet government regulations. There are three parts involved in PVE testing and WinterPark has the experience to help our clients satisfy all aspects of the requirements below.
