I help people find their voices, and live empowered, embodied, authentic, and connected lives. How we relate to ourselves, our bodies, our loved ones, family, friends, co-workers, and even the sacred matters on every level of life.
The quality of these relationships can mean the difference between a connected life with a sense of meaning, belonging, and purpose, or a life lived in disconnection: shame, fear, anger, hurt, isolation, relentless old patterns, trauma, and loss.Throughout life, our relationships and attachments with other people can shape and define how we treat ourselves, and can impact whether we feel worthy and whole, or unworthy and broken.

Choosing a therapist is more about the relationship than it is about anything else. If you choose to work with me, it will not be because of some seminar I attended - it will be because we like each other! With that in mind, I would love to tell you a little bit about myself! I am warm and funny and real.
My approach is warm, creative, intuitive, and sometimes surprisingly fun! Dream work, active imagination, art therapy, journaling, movement, mindfulness, meditation, and, of course, talking together create a process that feels joyful, meaningful and hopeful, even as we work on things that feel painful or difficult.
A relational life in balance can be a source of joy, companionship, support, and connection. When our relationships feel out of balance, or when there is conflict or abuse, there are few things more painful in life. Most people come to counseling when they have tried everything they can think of, and still there is no movement, change, or resolution.
Life is not always well represented by the pretty pictures posted on our social media feeds. It can be beautiful, of course, full of smiles and "firsts" and an assortment of celebrations and mundane moments of awe. But, it can also be challenging, overwhelming, and sometimes downright painful!
The people that are supposed to love us can sometimes be the people that hurt us, and this can impact our ability to relate to ourselves and other people in healthy, life-giving ways.Acknowledging and eventually allowing someone to safely bear witness to the painful experiences of our lives is a big deal.

The phrase "body positive" gets thrown around a lot these days, but often is a surface-level gloss over an unrelenting inner struggle with our bodies and our selves. We all need to feel a sense of belonging, of worthiness, of lovability and inclusion.
We are social beings, and the pain of trying to fit in when you don't feel "acceptable, " or you have been told your body is unacceptable, can create a vicious cycle of constantly trying to fix yourself in order to fit in.Dieting, restricting, binge-eating, and even full-blown eating disorders develop out of an effort to belong, and to feel good about yourself.
