The Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was established in 1956 by Samuel Teolis, who is the only local funeral director that is the original founder / owner of any local funeral home in our area. A traditional funeral service is the most common type of funeral service. It includes a visitation where family and friends gather at the funeral home to pay their respects and share memories with the family of the deceased. A traditional funeral service may be held at the funeral home, church, graveside or at a place of the families choosing.
Pre-planning your own funeral is one of the most responsible, caring things you can do. It provides comfort and peace of mind for both you and your loved ones. It is a way to relieve your loved ones of the tremendous burden and responsibility of planning your final services at a time of loss and stress.
The tradition of erecting a memorial, monument, to honor a lost loved one is as old as humanity itself. It is part of our natural desire to show our love and respect for those who have touched our lives. It is also a powerful way to express our feelings in a creative and enduring way. There is no other memorial firm on earth with the same reputation for quality and integrity and service that "Rock of Ages" has earned.
There are many "shades" of green possibilities when planning a green funeral or natural burial, based on your preferences, cemetery capabilities, and local rules and regulations. In a "purist" natural or green burial, the body is buried, without embalming in a natural setting, or embalming with a formaldehyde-free mild solution, which would enable a private or public visitation to remain available.
