At Schumacher & O'Loughlin, LLC, we are guided by two important principles - candor and advocacy. We are attorneys who will be straight with you about your legal issues, and are passionate advocates who genuinely care about our clients and their legal matters. When being faced with a difficult time where legal services were necessary, Schumacher and O'Loughlin were extremely professional while also attending to my personal well-being.

I would highly recommend them. Their office was friendly and helped things to run very smoothly, which was important to me. After moving to the Gunnison Valley in the early 2000's and working together at a different firm, Jon Schumacher and Michael O'Loughlin started Schumacher & O'Loughlin, LLC in September of 2011. After ten successful years of practicing in Gunnison, they decided to expand the firm and Chris Mochulsky joined as an associate in January of 2021.
The term "civil litigation" describes the process of resolving disputes through the courts. These disputes are referred to as "civil matters", which means they are non-criminal matters. While a lawsuit is typically a last resort, sometimes it is necessary. When contemplating a lawsuit, it is critical that your attorney is candid with you about your chance of success as well as the costs and time commitment involved.
There are three types of criminal cases - felonies, misdemeanors, and petty offenses. A felony charge is the most serious, followed by misdemeanors, then petty offenses. Regardless of the charge filed, we realize that any criminal charge is a difficult thing to face. Our goal is to be as proactive as possible and resolve the matter at an early stage.
Personal injury cases require experienced and trial-tested attorneys. Personal injury cases also most often involve insurance companies. Insurance companies make their profits by ensuring that the claims paid out are less than premiums paid in. This involves an inherent incentive for a company to pay less than a claim is worth.
Our firm handles a wide variety of business and corporate matters for our clients and helps them to understand the laws necessary to comply with in order to be successful. Each business is unique, and our goal is to help form your entity and draft the necessary documents with your specific goals in mind.
