Northwood Family Dental Center combines a husband and wife team with different areas of expertise to provide comprehensive dental care at one modern dental practice. We are conveniently located in a newly renovated facility with views of beautiful Northwood Lake. At our practice your comfort is paramount.
Alison grew up in Rhode Island and was inspired to become a dentist by her childhood orthodontist. She obtained her doctorate of dental medicine with honors from Tufts University. While at Tufts University Alison won the award for Clinical Excellence in Oral Pathology and was inducted in to Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
Board Certified Dr. Alison Gomes has completed an additional two year residency in pediatric dentistry, after dental school. Learn more about services available for our youngest patients. We provide various treatments for patients who have periodontal or gum disease from routine maintenance to periodontal surgery if necessary.
A pediatric dentist receives at least two additional years of training beyond dental school. Pediatric dentists receive specialized training in caring for the oral health of children from infancy to adolescence and individuals with special health care needs. They receive specialized training in areas such as growth and development, prevention and treatment of oral disease and behavior guidance.
Dental visits should begin with the eruption of the child's first tooth or by age one. Early dental visits are important in helping to prevent dental disease because they allow the dentist to evaluate if your child may be at high risk of developing cavities. Most of the first dental visit will be spent discussing your child's diet, oral hygiene practices and any concerns that you may have.

My family came to Northwood Family Dental Center with some pretty significant dental issues. Dr. Allison and her staff have been so helpful, understanding, and accommodating to help my family get back to having healthy smiles. They are a kind, patient group, working with us to get the needed work done in a time frame that is comfortable for us financially as we are uninsured. I can’t say enough! I highly recommend them.

Natasha was fantastic! I clicked with her very quickly and was able to communicate with her very well. I appreciated all of the information that she told me, and she explained it all in a way that was very helpful. She was just awesome, and I was very glad to make another appointment with her in the coming months.
Julie was always my hygienist, and she is equally as wonderful. I was a little tentative about someone different working with me, after having such a great connection with Julie. But Natasha put me right at ease.
