When your horse is having a difficult birth, it is important to have a doctor that has successfully performed c-sections to remove the foal when needed. The doctor can help make the decision if the foal should be pulled vaginally or removed surgically. We are strong supporters of the food animal industry and want to see farmers succeed so we do not wait to make the important decisions on dystocias.
Horses have a unique dental structure in that they have evolved as grazing herbivores. Like humans, horses have two sets of teeth, deciduous (baby teeth) and permanent teeth. Adult horses have between 36-44 teeth. Routine dental work is essential to your horse's overall health. There are a variety of dental conditions and dieases that occur within the horse population.
Both Dr. Jack and Dr. Greenfield are skilled at diagnosing lameness in the horse. Our Equine Treatment Center is ideal for lameness examinations. It provides an indoor arena to evaluate lameness under saddle and also provides an indoor treatment area for further diagnostics. Digital radiographs allow the doctor to examine bones for fractures and arthritis.

Our three dogs have bad anxiety, our previous veterinarian created and made this worse. The staff at Alpena veterinary clinic were SO comforting with our pups, got straight to the point of the visit, and let us know everything they were doing and going to do. Dr. Struble definitely knows what she is doing and was great with our pups. Definitely our go-to Vet now!

My baby girl has cancer. And thanks to Dr. Greene, we found it soon enough to be able to medicate and help her with pain that I didn't know she was going through. All of the staff are very kind and considerate. You can tell they truly care for all the animals that come through those doors. I personally wouldn't choose any other clinic for my fur babies.

I cannot say enough great things about the staff at the Alpena Vet! I had been fighting a lick granuloma with one of my dogs when I first transferred over to Alpena Vet. The vets discovered it was due to mild arthritis in her joint, but we were still trying to figure out the best way to help her from this. They suggested accupuncture with their new vet Dr. Strobel and I decided this was the route I wanted to try before going to lifelong meds for pain management. The results I've seen with this have blown me away. My girl went from limping and not wanting to walk more than necessary to now all her

I was vacationing in the area last week from NYC when my 15 year old Shih-Tzu (Baxter) fell ill. I made a same day appointment and was seen promptly. Dr. Jack actively listened to his symptoms and medical history, reviewed the medications he was taking, contacted my NYC vet, examined Baxter and hypothesized liver damage due to his current meds. Dr. Jack then ran a blood test and confirmed her diagnosis. She exhibited compassion, professionalism, expertise and a sense of humor. Baxter was treated for nausea and dehydration and put on a course of treatment which was fully explained to me. All
